Chainlink

Chainlink has expanded its reach into institutional finance through a new partnership with Infosys, aiming to facilitate the integration of blockchain technology into large-scale banking systems already used by global financial institutions.

Infosys and Chainlink target institutional finance

Infosys, an international IT firm with a valuation exceeding $40 billion, operates banking and payment solutions serving more than 1.7 billion customers worldwide. The company’s long-standing relationships with financial institutions make it a prominent partner for blockchain adoption in traditional finance.
The partnership will focus on a range of Chainlink technologies including the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), Automated Compliance Engine (ACE), Proof of Reserve, as well as Data Streams and Data Feeds. These tools address requirements such as interoperability, regulatory compliance, accurate data delivery, transaction processing, and reserves verification.
According to Chainlink, Infosys already collaborates with eight of the ten world’s largest investment banks. This collaboration aims to create technology channels that link established financial infrastructures with blockchain markets rather than facilitating immediate large-scale asset transfers.

Chainlink underlined the importance of broad infrastructure development, clarifying that, for institutions to truly benefit from blockchain, access must be combined with reliable data, compliance frameworks, and secure interoperability across platforms.

The focus remains on creating flexible pathways, enabling institutions to adopt emerging blockchain-based solutions alongside existing processes, which may help streamline future transitions to digital assets.

The Chainlink technology stack addresses several pain points within institutional finance. CCIP enables communication between different blockchain networks, while CRE coordinates engagement between on-chain and traditional off-chain processes. Chainlink’s Data Feeds and Data Streams deliver the financial data necessary for robust, compliant transactions.
Proof of Reserve technology offers independent validation of assets underlying certain financial products, and ACE addresses regulatory and compliance needs when institutions engage with digital assets. This unified approach allows financial organizations to avoid managing multiple, fragmented solutions for their various blockchain applications.
Infosys’s announcement follows news of Chainlink’s collaboration with Bottomline, a leading global SWIFT service provider that serves over 600 banks and manages annual payment processing volumes surpassing $16 trillion.
Bottomline recently introduced Global Pay Connect, an on-chain payment connectivity solution leveraging Chainlink’s CCIP and CRE tools. This enables banks to link their present payment systems with blockchain networks, providing on-chain payment options while maintaining their legacy infrastructure.
By utilizing interoperability tools like CCIP and workflow coordination via CRE, banks can integrate blockchain payment rails without the complexity of building individual channels for each separate network. In a market where a single Fed decision or a sudden altcoin listing can change everything in seconds, jumping between different apps for charts, news, and portfolio tracking is costing investors money. Smart traders are now utilizing privacy-first tools like CryptoAppsy to consolidate everything. Without even the hassle of creating an account, you get real-time charts, smart price alerts, coin-specific news, and critical macro data all on one screen.

Chainlink’s partnerships with both Infosys and Bottomline emphasize the emerging trend of integrating blockchain features within existing financial systems. These collaborations aim to deliver practical solutions to long-standing challenges such as interoperability, compliance, and data transparency.

By connecting established financial technology providers with blockchain infrastructure, these initiatives suggest that major financial institutions are more likely to adopt on-chain solutions in tandem with their current systems rather than building new standalone platforms.

However, these integrations do not guarantee that traditional finance players are shifting all operations to blockchains yet. The scope of transformation will depend on technological advances, regulatory clarity, and the evolving needs of the banking sector.
For now, the Chainlink and Infosys partnership represents a significant step toward making secure, compliant blockchain infrastructure available to large financial organizations, while Bottomline’s integration sets the stage for broader adoption in global payments.
