Global Pay Connect <a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/09/17/3363840/28640/en/bottomline-launches-global-pay-connect-to-provide-financial-institutions-with-a-future-proofed-payment-messaging-ecosystem.html" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">has gone live</a> as a new onchain payment connectivity platform built for banks. Bottomline, a top-three Swift service provider handling more than $16 trillion in annual payments, introduced the platform on September 17, 2026. 
The launch pairs Bottomline’s payment network with Chainlink’s blockchain infrastructure. More than 600 banks can now access onchain payment rails without replatforming existing systems.

<a href="https://blockonomi.com/financial-institutions-deploy-ai-models-to-forecast-geopolitical-conflict-risk/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Financial institutions</a> face growing pressure to support real-time payments and ISO 20022 compliance. Cross-border transparency and emerging payment models add further strain on aging systems. 
Bottomline research found that 40% of CFOs view outdated infrastructure as the top barrier to real-time payment adoption. Only 28% of institutions describe their SaaS setup as modern and fully API-enabled.
Global Pay Connect responds to these gaps through a single SaaS platform. It connects major global and domestic payment networks, including Swift, SEPA, SIC, Bacs, CHAPS, CHIPS, Lynx and EBICS.

The platform also supports host-to-host connections for institutions with direct integration needs. This unified approach removes the need for separate connections to each network.
Beyond connectivity, the platform delivers ISO 20022 transformation and payment data enrichment tools. A Message Vault feature helps institutions manage and retain payment messaging records. 
Real-time visibility into payment activity gives <a href="https://parameter.io/21-major-banks-including-goldman-sachs-and-citi-launch-stablecoin-consortium-to-challenge-usdc-dominance/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">banks</a> clearer operational oversight. AI-enabled insights are built in to help institutions extract more value from payment data.

<h2 id="b-chainlink-partnership-extends-reach-to-onchain-payment-rails-b">Chainlink Partnership Extends Reach to Onchain Payment Rails</h2>
<a href="https://moneycheck.com/chainlink-link-surges-7-as-bottomline-integrates-16-trillion-payment-network/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bottomline</a> has entered a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Chainlink to power the blockchain side of Global Pay Connect. 
The platform uses Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, known as CCIP, to link Bottomline’s payment infrastructure to blockchain networks. A single, network-agnostic integration model replaces the need for custom builds per network.
Chainlink’s Runtime Environment, or CRE, coordinates payment workflows that span both onchain and offchain systems. Chainlink shared the news, writing that the two firms are “giving financial institutions a direct path onchain at scale.”
Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, said Bottomline’s reach combined with <a href="https://coincentral.com/chainlink-link-price-link-sits-at-make-or-break-level-as-senate-kills-crypto-bill/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Chainlink’s</a> infrastructure “<cite>enables hundreds of financial institutions to use their existing infrastructure to access onchain payment rails through a single, network-agnostic connection.”</cite>
Rotzer described Global Pay Connect as “<cite>the bridge between today’s payment infrastructure requirements and the future evolution of payments ecosystems.”</cite>
He said the platform supports emerging models such as digital assets and tokenization. Bottomline is presenting the platform at Sibos Miami 2026, where attendees can visit booth #I067 for further details.
