Silver price is trading near $65.72 per ounce, but one popular market analyst believes the precious metal could deliver a huge rally before Christmas.
Tim Hack, a technical analyst on X, has outlined a scenario in which silver doubles or even triples over roughly the next three months. His accompanying four-hour chart projects a move toward $190–$200, far above the metal’s current price.
It is an attention-grabbing forecast, particularly after silver’s recent correction. However, the scale and speed of the projected advance raise serious questions about how achievable the target really is.

Hack expressed considerable confidence in his bullish outlook in a recent X post.
“I’m going in this hard because I expect silver to double, maybe even triple, by Christmas,” he wrote.
He compared<a href="https://captainaltcoin.com/3-silver-price-predictions-from-top-precious-metals-traders/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> the current setup with silver’s historic rally</a> between September 1979 and January 1980, when he said the metal climbed from $11 to $50.
Hack believes the present market could produce an exceptionally powerful upward move, describing the potential rally as the strongest impulse that living traders have encountered.
His prediction implies a dramatic acceleration from current levels. With silver near $65.72, a doubling would put the price at approximately $131.44, while a tripling would take it to $197.16.
The upper end of that range closely matches the target drawn on his chart.
However, the historical comparison is not enough to establish that silver is about to repeat its late-1970s performance. The economic environment, market structure and drivers of demand are different, and an exceptional historical rally does not provide a reliable template for the next three months.

Hack’s four-hour chart captures silver’s advance from approximately $25 in early 2024 to a peak near $120 in early 2026.

That rally was followed by a substantial correction. Silver subsequently formed a series of lower highs beneath a descending resistance line, while a second downward-sloping line connected its corrective lows.
Together, these lines form a falling wedge-like structure.
Silver later rebounded from the $55–$60 region and recovered toward $70 before retreating again. At the time of the chart, the metal was trading around $65.72, close to the upper boundary of the descending formation.
Hack’s projected path assumes that silver will break out of this structure and accelerate toward the $190–$200 region.
The chart also marks several important horizontal levels. The first is approximately $71.33, which represents nearby resistance. Above that, the $78.50 area and the previous highs around $118–$120 would present additional hurdles.
A convincing breakout above the descending trendline and a sustained recovery through $71.33 would strengthen the immediate bullish case. However, that would still be a long way from confirming a move toward $200.
On the downside, the $59 area is an important nearby reference point. A return toward $53 and the marked $49.82 level would undermine the proposed bullish reversal.
The long-term ascending support region remains visible beneath the current price, but holding that trend alone would not guarantee a rapid recovery.

The biggest issue with Hack’s forecast is not whether<a href="https://captainaltcoin.com/silver-price-prediction-the-trader-who-called-silver-at-24-is-buying-again/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> the silver price can rally</a>. It is whether the metal can nearly triple in such a short period.
A move from $65.72 to $197.16 would require a gain of 200% in roughly three months. Even the lower target of $131.44 would demand a 100% advance.
Such returns are possible in exceptional commodity-market conditions, but they would require an extraordinary acceleration in buying pressure.
Silver would first need to clear resistance near $71, recover through the $78–$80 region and then surpass its previous peak around $120. Only after completing those moves would a target near $200 become the next major question.
Hack’s chart draws a direct upward arrow from the current consolidation toward that objective. It does not, however, explain what fundamental developments would produce the necessary demand.
A rally of this magnitude could require an unusually powerful combination of investment inflows, physical-market tightness, monetary conditions favorable to precious metals and sustained speculative demand.
Without such a broad-based metals bull run, the Christmas deadline appears particularly difficult to justify.
The comparison with 1979–1980 also deserves caution. Silver’s historic surge occurred under exceptional circumstances and ended in a severe reversal. It demonstrates how volatile the metal can become, not how quickly prices should be expected to rise today.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="silver-price-outlook-a-breakout-comes-first">Silver Price Outlook: A Breakout Comes First</h2>
Hack’s chart presents a bullish possibility, but silver has several technical obstacles to overcome before the most ambitious part of his forecast becomes relevant.
The first test is whether buyers can push the metal above its descending resistance line and reclaim $71.33. A sustained move through $78–$80 would provide additional evidence that the correction is ending.
Beyond that, silver would need to challenge its previous peak near $120. Reaching that level would already represent a substantial advance from current prices.
A failure to break resistance, particularly if followed by a decline below $59, would weaken the immediate bullish setup and bring lower support levels back into focus.
Silver could certainly stage a meaningful recovery before the end of 2026. But doubling or tripling by Christmas is an extreme scenario, not a reasonable baseline expectation based on this chart alone.
