Cardano’s ecosystem is increasingly focusing on practical applications, as network co-founder Charles Hoskinson spotlighted new initiatives designed to attract users and boost activity. In a recent post highlighted by the CardaniansX community group, Hoskinson pointed to projects including Midnight, RealFi, and Pogun as key examples that could increase Cardano’s relevance.

Cardano price holds gains as ecosystem attracts attention

At the time of writing, Cardano (ADA) trades at $0.2104, representing a 3.39% gain over the last 24 hours. This rise has coincided with renewed attention on the network’s ability to deliver real-world use cases. According to TradingView data, Cardano’s price sits above the middle Bollinger Band, positioned at $0.2089.

The Bollinger Bands indicate the upper level at $0.2261 and the lower band at $0.1917, situating the current price just above the midpoint. These technical levels serve as key support and resistance for traders monitoring ADA’s next move.

The relative strength index (RSI) currently stands at 53.09, only modestly above the neutral 50 mark. This suggests ADA is neither overbought nor oversold. However, with the RSI below its 54.93 moving average, analysts view momentum as slightly muted. Should the price exceed $0.2261, the bullish trend could strengthen, while a retreat below $0.20 may bring further pressure.

The Bollinger Bands indicate immediate support at $0.2089 and resistance at $0.2261, giving traders clear technical markers to watch as Cardano’s price action unfolds.

Building value through network development

Hoskinson’s recent comments reflect a broader narrative within Cardano’s community: increased focus on ecosystem products rather than just price performance. The expectation is that successful launches of decentralized applications such as Midnight, RealFi, and Pogun could eventually foster higher activity and attract new participants. Still, available data does not conclusively link these initiatives to the current price of ADA.

Midnight is a data protection-focused sidechain for Cardano, aiming to provide confidential smart contracts. RealFi covers decentralized finance services, while Pogun seeks to offer blockchain-based gaming solutions.

Mini dictionary: Midnight, a privacy-focused sidechain for Cardano, is being developed to enable confidential smart contracts and secure data sharing within the Cardano ecosystem.

While Hoskinson continues to promote ecosystem development, analysts have yet to find a direct correlation between the adoption of these projects and ADA’s present price action.

Traders monitor open interest and activity

In the derivatives market, CoinGlass data shows open interest in Cardano increased sharply in August, reaching nearly $780 million around August 22-23 before declining. Current open interest remains above $400 million, indicating continued involvement from traders compared to early July. Funding rates oscillated between positive and negative during the period but have mostly stayed positive in recent days, with occasional brief negative swings.

Trading volumes have also been consistently active, particularly during the sharp price move above $0.22 in late August. After this peak, volumes diminished somewhat but continue to fluctuate. Analysts note that a renewed surge in volume could serve as confirmation if ADA attempts to break the $0.2261 resistance.

Data from DefiLlama puts Cardano’s total value locked (TVL) at approximately $55 million during the latest reporting period. Active address and transaction counts have varied, showing no clear directional trend. This points to ongoing activity within the Cardano network but does not yet indicate that new projects such as Midnight, RealFi, or Pogun are the primary drivers.

Recent activity, including trading volume and derivatives open interest, suggests that traders remain engaged, but clear evidence linking this to the launch of specific Cardano ecosystem projects is still lacking.

Key price levels and market outlook

Technical analysis highlights $0.2089 and $0.2261, the central and upper Bollinger Bands, as critical short-term technical levels. The broader $0.20 region acts as support, while $0.1917 defines a lower boundary. A break above $0.2261, especially if backed by rising volume and RSI, would reinforce bullish momentum. A move below $0.20 could signal further downside risk.

Traders also watch for tangible progress from ecosystem projects, as evidence of increased user adoption and network activity would be a crucial catalyst for future price movement. Nevertheless, ADA’s outlook remains influenced by overall market sentiment and technical developments.
