Crypto commentator Time Traveler has urged investors to secure an XRP wallet, describing the current moment as a rare opportunity and set a deadline of less than 72 hours. His message surfaced on September 12, immediately drawing attention ahead of the crucial September 15 Senate cloture vote on the CLARITY Act.

Countdown to the Senate Vote

Time Traveler’s warning references a narrow window before lawmakers vote on the CLARITY Act, a bill designed to create a comprehensive regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States. The act specifies which digital assets fall under the oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission and which would be regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

All 53 Senate Republicans have made clear their intention to support the bill, assuring a unified front. However, supporters of the legislation are still seeking at least seven additional votes from Democratic senators to reach the required 60-vote threshold for cloture, which is mandatory for the bill to advance.

Senator Cynthia Lummis has emphasized that Democrats contributed significantly to the shaping of the bill, with more than 115 legislative elements reportedly negotiated into the final text. Lummis expects these contributions to influence Democratic support at the ballot.

“If you don’t have an XRP wallet, you truly have missed the greatest opportunity that has ever come in your lifetime. There is time, but less than 72 hours.”

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has also weighed in, urging swift Senate action on the CLARITY Act. Bessent expressed concern that further delay may send a message to global markets that the United States is not prepared to lead on digital asset regulation.

Community Divided on Urgency

The XRP community has shown a mixed response to Time Traveler’s remarks. Some users voiced support for his enthusiasm, affirming they already hold XRP and are maintaining their positions. Others, however, expressed skepticism toward the prediction, stating doubts about the relevance of attaching specific dates or times to outcomes in the volatile digital asset sector.

Discussions intensified as the September 15 vote approached, with some in the community playfully calling the date “Christmas.” Others argued for caution, urging the need to avoid setting firm deadlines in a space marked by uncertainty and fast-changing developments.

While the technical discussion focuses on the regulatory structure, the crypto industry is witnessing a wider transformation. Wall Street is advancing into Web3, allowing investors to directly hold tokenized shares of major U.S. companies, gold, and silver in their crypto wallets via platforms such as 1stepSwap. This process of tokenizing real-world assets and sourcing optimal market prices in seconds removes the need for traditional middlemen, reflecting the broader changes affecting both digital and traditional markets.

Implications for XRP and the Wider Market

Time Traveler has consistently expressed highly optimistic expectations for XRP, having previously forecasted price targets in the hundreds and even thousands of dollars. His recent posts follow the same pattern, linking the outcome of the CLARITY Act vote to a potential turning point for both XRP and the broader U.S. regulatory climate.

Senator Lummis has noted that if the vote does not succeed on September 15, the next substantive legislative attempt might not materialize until as late as 2030, raising the stakes surrounding the current bill. This context underpins the urgency in Time Traveler’s message, as he and others in the community treat the upcoming vote as a defining event for digital assets in the country.

As investors and observers prepare for the Senate vote, market participants are closely monitoring updates and reactions across both traditional and digital asset markets.

The CLARITY Act creates a regulatory framework for digital assets, identifying which tokens fall under SEC and CFTC oversight. All 53 Senate Republicans are expected to support the bill, but at least seven Democratic votes are needed to reach the threshold required to advance.
