One of the insightful fireside chats from Day 1 included an interesting topic about capital markets in transition. In particular, moderator Adithya Chauhan of the Bullish Brew Crew, sat alongside Derek Dai from Bybit and Herve Francois of SC Ventures. Together, these reputed and highly respected figures in their industries, in a room full of eager listeners, discussed innovation, liquidity, and the next investment cycle.

The discussion began with the question of how the market dynamics have changed in terms of how traders and investors are approaching the market, with respect to liquidity movement. To this, Dai responds by saying that there is a clear convergence in terms of the flow of liquidity between the TradFi and crypto spaces. He also adds how there is a clear change in trading because of the way liquidity is flowing in the market at the moment.

Dai marks that liquidity in crypto is a global liquidity and that it moves fast in a market that truly never sleeps, unlike TradFi. This is a major advantage to trading and investing in the crypto space, a perk that is finally being seen and recognized by TradFi entities. Thus, Dai goes on to state that with the space evolving, traders and investors are evolving too. They are no longer asking if they should trade crypto, instead they look for where they can harness the best opportunities.

Dubai Crypto Expo 2026 Pushes Innovation

While capital acts quickly across different asset classes, both for TradFi and crypto, it is important to remember that global events play a large role, unifying both sectors. This means that what asset one must trade is no longer the question, but rather the ability of a platform to offer services that allow users to make the best of every situation across all asset classes, crypto or TradFi.
Meanwhile, from the VC point of view, Francois adds that it is important for these platforms to meet client expectations, ones that will arrive in the near future. Thus, he highlights the importance of a strong, proven, and secure ecosystem backed by a powerful, adaptable, and unshakeable infrastructure. This will catch the attention of big institutions, bringing a flood of liquidity to the space, bridging in trust and expanding opportunities for all parties.

Near the end of the session, Francois mentions the importance of the success of crypto ETFs, a move that solidified institutions interest in the crypto space. Likewise, Dai highlights how the rivalry between crypto and TradFi changed from competing with one another to finding a connection, to finally entering a convergence state.

This phase is set to bring a great wave of new opportunities to the financial world, especially when pairing TradFi’s great ability to manage risk, trust, and infrastructure with crypto's global liquidity, 24/7 open market, and speed of project innovation. Indeed, it is an incredible time to be a part of these spaces, as both sectors work together to bring greater exposure to the masses.
