A new XRP price theory is making an aggressive case for a future supply shortage, but the thesis relies heavily on assumptions about adoption, liquidity, and investor behavior.
Crypto commentator Jack Straw claimed in a tweet that an <a href="https://timestabloid.com/dark-defender-says-xrp-supply-shock-is-inevitable-heres-why/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP supply shock</a> is approaching and that $20 could represent only the beginning of a much larger price move toward $1,000.
<h2 id="strong-jack-straw-promotes-1-000-xrp-theory-strong">Jack Straw Promotes $1,000 XRP Theory</h2>
Straw’s post presents the claim in highly bullish terms, declaring, “XRP SUPPLY SHOCK IS HERE!” He also cited U.S. crypto legislation, a potential Bitcoin reserve, and a “historic alt” before asserting that exchanges are running out of XRP quickly.
The post then makes a much larger price claim, stating that “$20 IS JUST THE START” and promoting a “$1,000 XRP DOMINO THEORY.” However, Straw did not provide specific data in the post showing that exchanges are actually running out of XRP or demonstrating how the market could reach a<a href="https://timestabloid.com/reiterated-xrp-price-prediction-dom-kwok-calls-1000-heres-the-timeline/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> $1,000 valuation.</a>
The attached video from Digital Asset Investor provides the main argument behind the post. Rather than directly establishing that XRP will reach $1,000, the video discusses the wealth-management concept known as “buy, borrow, die.”

<h2 id="strong-video-focuses-on-the-buy-borrow-die-strategy-strong">Video Focuses on the “Buy, Borrow, Die” Strategy</h2>
Digital Asset Investor introduces the clip by telling viewers who believe in<a href="https://timestabloid.com/easya-co-founder-reiterates-1000-xrp-price-by-2030-heres-why/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> $1,000 XRP </a>to listen to an explanation of the strategy.
The speaker explains that wealthy individuals can appreciate assets, borrow against the assets instead of selling, and use the borrowed funds for other purposes. The speaker argues that wealthy borrowers can sometimes obtain loans at relatively low rates while their underlying assets continue to appreciate.
The final part of the strategy involves passing the assets to heirs after death. Under current U.S. tax rules, inherited assets can generally receive a basis adjustment to their fair market value at death, although estate and other tax considerations can still apply. Major financial institutions describe buy-borrow-die as a legitimate wealth-planning approach, while also highlighting risks such as rising borrowing costs and declining collateral values.
<h2 id="strong-the-xrp-connection-remains-speculative-strong">The XRP Connection Remains Speculative</h2>
The distinction is that the video explains a financial strategy; it does not establish that XRP will reach $1,000. Applying the strategy to XRP would require XRP to become valuable and liquid enough for substantial holders to use their positions as collateral.

</blockquote>
That creates a significant gap between the video’s financial explanation and Straw’s price target. A supply shortage could support higher prices if demand increased substantially as available liquidity declined. But the claim that exchanges are “running out” of XRP requires evidence about exchange balances, market liquidity, and actual buying activity.
The broader $1,000 thesis therefore remains speculative. Even if <a href="https://timestabloid.com/technical-analyst-xrp-20-moonshot-incoming/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP reached $20</a>, moving from $20 to $1,000 would require another 50-fold price increase. The buy-borrow-die strategy does not itself create that demand.
Straw’s post is consequently better understood as a bullish theory built around the potential financial utility of holding a highly appreciated asset, rather than evidence that a $1,000 XRP price is already developing.
