However, Bitcoin’s price occasionally becomes heavily correlated with gold.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">The latest Bitcoin vs gold data suggest the market has entered a rare phase in which the two assets are highly correlated. <a href="https://experts.bitwiseinvestments.com/cio-memos/more-than-ever-bitcoin-is-trading-like-digital-gold" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitwise data</a> revealed that the gold-Bitcoin correlation has been rising, and it just pushed above 0.50. This could offer insights into how Bitcoin price may behave as US debt concerns become more prominent.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">André Dragosch, Bitwise’s head of research in Europe, noted that the correlation strengthened after the Treasury announced Bond buybacks. He had this to say about the matter.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Dragosch also drew comparisons between the previous spikes in the Bitcoin-gold correlation. He noted government interventions as common observations, with the buybacks underscoring the latest one.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">The analyst noted that the challenges that the dollar is currently facing may benefit Bitcoin and gold. This implies that debt-driven devaluation of the fiat currency may push demand towards gold and Bitcoin.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">This was already evident in August, when Bitcoin price achieved a 25% monthly gain. On the other hand, the gold price was up by almost 10%.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">The bond market is currently one of the biggest macro factors driving sentiment. This means the unfolding situation will determine how the markets respond.
