<h2 id="span-style-font-size-16px-tron-mainnet-voting-what-does-tron-proposal-change-onnetwork-span">TRON Mainnet Voting: What Does TRON Proposal Change on&nbsp;Network?</h2>
TRON's community is in the middle of a decision that could reshape how the network handles smart contracts, security, and computing costs. TRON Mainnet Voting for Committee Proposal No. 107 went live on August 25, 2026, and it is already drawing attention from developers and TRX holders alike.
The proposal is not a small tweak. It brings TRON up to speed with Ethereum's Prague and Osaka feature sets, and if it passes, the upgrade is set to activate on August 28 at 14:00 SGT.
Key Takeaways
<ul>
 <li>TRON Mainnet Voting for Proposal 107 started on August 25, 2026, with an effective date targeted for August 28, 2026, per DAO's official X post.</li>
 <li>The upgrade adds historical block hash queries, the CLZ opcode, native secp256r1 support for Passkey verification, and lower MODEXP energy costs.</li>
 <li>TRX trades at $0.3427 with a $32.528 billion market cap, sitting about 20% below its all-time high of $0.4313, according to CoinGecko data.</li>

Proposal 107 brings TRON's virtual machine, the TVM, in line with <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/ethereum-news-today-wang-chun-sells-eth-blackrock-buys" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ethereum's Prague and Osaka</a> upgrades, both bundled into TRON's own GreatVoyage-v4.8.2 release, nicknamed Pyrrho. In plain terms, the TVM is the engine that runs every smart contract it, so an upgrade here touches every app built on the chain.

Four changes stand out. Historical block hash queries let smart contracts look back at older block data without extra workarounds. The CLZ opcode speeds up certain math operations used in contract code.
Native secp256r1 support brings Passkey verification directly onto the chain, which matters because Passkeys are becoming a standard way to log into apps without passwords. And optimized MODEXP energy consumption lowers the computing cost of cryptographic operations, which can reduce fees for developers running complex contracts.
None of these features are exclusive to it. Ethereum shipped similar changes as part of its own roadmap, and <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/tron-wlfi-dispute-zach-witkoff-tether-response" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">TRON DAO</a>'s move to mirror them is aimed at keeping the two ecosystems compatible, so tools and contracts built for one can move to the other with fewer changes.

The timeline is tight. TRON Mainnet Voting for Proposal 107 opened on August 25, 2026, and its post on X states the effective time is targeted for August 28, 2026, with activation expected around 14:00 SGT that day. The exact activation block is still marked TBD as of this writing.

Committee proposals&nbsp;pass through a stake-weighted vote among the network's elected Super Representatives. If Proposal 107 clears that threshold before the window closes, the TVM upgrade goes live on the stated date without any further action needed from regular TRX holders.

TRX is currently trading at $0.3427, with a market cap of $32.528 billion and 24 hour trading volume of $449.673 million, according to CoinGecko. The token has gained more than 3% over the past week and 3.2% over the past month, and it sits roughly 20% below its all-time high of $0.4313.

There is a fundamentals story sitting alongside the vote. <a href="https://x.com/tokenterminal/status/2090851705927962644" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Token Terminal data</a> cited by TRON DAO shows USDT on TRON grew by $1.1 billion over the past 30 days, the fastest growth of any network the firm tracks, more than eight times the $130.3 million added on Aptos, the second fastest growing chain.
It also points to 400 million accounts on the network. Combined with a live upgrade vote, some traders see the setup as a reason for renewed buying interest, and a successful activation on August 28 could add to that momentum.
That said, a technical upgrade passing a vote does not guarantee a <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/price-prediction" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">price move</a>. Stablecoin growth and account counts reflect network usage, not TRX demand directly, and broader crypto market conditions, exchange flows, and macro factors all influence where TRX trades next. A push toward the $0.4313 all-time high is possible if buying pressure builds, but it is not something the proposal itself can promise, and a rejected or delayed vote could just as easily cool short term sentiment.
<h2 id="span-style-font-size-16px-what-should-trx-holders-watch-next-span">What Should TRX Holders Watch Next?</h2>
The next concrete checkpoint is August 28, 2026, when the voting result is expected to become effective if the threshold is met. Traders and developers watching TRON should track three things: whether Super Representatives approve Proposal 107, whether the activation block is confirmed on schedule, and whether USDT supply on it&nbsp;keeps expanding at its current pace. Any slowdown in <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/stablecoin-news-usdt-demand-fasset-1-billion-valuation" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">stablecoin growth</a> or a failed vote would weaken the bullish case, while a clean activation paired with continued USDT inflows would strengthen it.
