Today's <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/chainlink-news-lbank-data-streams-ccip-wbtc-update" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Chainlink update</a> today covers three separate developments published within days of each other:
<ul>
 <li>Circle's institutional blockchain Arc has joined Chainlink Scale</li>
 <li>Chainlink Functions and Automation have officially merged into CRE workflows</li>
 <li>The <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/chainlink-news-5-2m-link-reserve-july-update" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Chainlink Reserve</a> bought back another batch of the token</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="span-style-color-inherit-font-size-16px-font-weight-bolder-arc-joins-chainlink-scale-span">Arc Joins Chainlink Scale</h2>
The project&nbsp;confirmed that <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/arc-mainnet-launch-date-circle-founding-validators-2026" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Circle's Arc network</a> has joined the Scale program, giving Arc access to institutional-grade oracle infrastructure "from day one."
The oracle network&nbsp;said this meets the standards required by Arc's own network participants — naming BlackRock, DTCC, and Mastercard specifically.
Some context on why that lineup matters:

The oracle network&nbsp;isn't just providing oracle infrastructure here — it's also named among Arc's day-one ecosystem partners for custody and connectivity, alongside Fireblocks, Kraken, Ledger, and MetaMask.

<h2 id="span-style-color-inherit-font-size-16px-font-weight-bolder-functions-and-automation-become-cre-span">Functions and Automation Become CRE</h2>
Functions and Automation have officially moved from standalone services into <a href="https://docs.chain.link/cre" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Chainlink Runtime Environment</a> (CRE) workflows.
Per Chainlink's developer update, the goal is:
<ul>
 <li>A unified developer experience</li>
 <li>Less integration friction</li>
 <li>Lower operating costs across the network's economics</li>
</ul>
Protocols already upgraded to CRE:
<ul>
 <li>Aave</li>
 <li>Polymarket</li>
 <li>Sky (formerly MakerDAO)</li>
 <li>Opinion Labs</li>
</ul>
This isn't just a DeFi story, either. DTCC's Collateral AppChain — a shared infrastructure platform for modernizing collateral mobility — has separately confirmed it runs on CRE to power automated eligibility, valuation, and settlement workflows. That's an institutional validation point sitting right alongside the DeFi adoption list.
<h2 id="span-style-color-inherit-font-size-16px-font-weight-bolder-another-link-buyback-for-the-reserve-span">Another LINK Buyback for the Reserve</h2>
Per on-chain monitoring from Onchain Lens, They&nbsp;bought back another round of token&nbsp;this week.

</div>
Quick trend check: the Reserve confirmed crossing 5.2 million LINK in late July. That means it's grown by roughly 150,000 LINK in about a week — consistent with the program's ongoing pace of converting both offchain and onchain revenue into LINK.

The token&nbsp;has held gains this week as this pattern of institutional and developer-facing news continues.</h3>
