The XRP Ledger has restored functionality through its latest rippled software update, bringing back features that had previously been pulled after critical bugs were identified. The XRP Ledger upgrade restores features as part of the network's amendment process, with the changes documented in the project's official release and blog materials.

What the XRP Ledger upgrade restored

The restoration is tied to the rippled 3.2.0 release, the software that powers XRP Ledger nodes. The update reinstates capabilities that had been removed during an earlier remediation period.
Restored features at a glance

Feature activation on the XRP Ledger is governed by amendments, which validators vote on before changes take effect network-wide. The current status of these changes is tracked on the known amendments reference, which lists each amendment and its state on the network.
The reinstated functionality follows the amendment path rather than an automatic switch, meaning it depends on validator support before it becomes live. The ledger recently demonstrated this process when it activated the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment after 85.7% validator support.
Why those features were removed over critical bugs

The features were originally pulled after issues surfaced that affected network reliability. Details on the underlying problem were published in a vulnerability disclosure report from September 2025, which set out the nature of the bug and the response.

From rollback to restoration

Between the rollback and the restoration, the fix had to be developed, reviewed, and packaged into a formal software release. The sequence of rippled builds is visible on the project's GitHub releases page, which records each version and its notes.

Framed as a reliability matter rather than an ongoing security threat, the process shows the network prioritizing stability by removing affected features until a verified fix was in place before returning them.

What the restoration means for the XRP Ledger ecosystem

For node operators, the practical step is running the updated rippled build so their infrastructure stays compatible with the network as amendments progress. Validators, in turn, decide whether the associated amendments reach the threshold required for activation, a process the ledger reached earlier when it moved to vote on a major upgrade.

Who benefits from the restored features

Developers building on the XRP Ledger regain access to the previously withdrawn functionality once the relevant amendments are enabled, allowing applications that depend on those features to operate again. The immediate caution is that activation is not guaranteed until validator voting completes, so builders should confirm amendment status before relying on the restored behavior.
