Dogecoin price is back in focus after its monthly RSI fell to its lowest level recorded in 13 years. The reading has split opinion across the market, while fresh wallet safety advice has also sparked a wider discussion among DOGE crypto holders.

Dogecoin Price Falls to Lowest Monthly RSI in 13 Years

Dogecoin price has reached a level that has not been seen in more than a decade after its monthly Relative Strength Index, or RSI, dropped to a 13-year low. The chart was shared by market analyst Cryptollica, who described the setup as one of the biggest opportunity zones in the coin’s history.

The RSI is a tool traders use to measure price strength. A very low reading can show that selling has been heavy. Some traders believe that it can come before a recovery, although it does not guarantee that prices will move higher.

The market chart also shows how Dogecoin has performed in August over the last five years. The coin has gained 0.79% so far in August 2026 and added 1.90% in August 2025. Before that, it ended August with losses of 16.9% in 2024, 17.9% in 2023, and 9.98% in 2022.

Those numbers show that August has often been a difficult month for DOGE crypto. At the same time, the recent gains over the last two years show that the pattern has not remained the same each year.

Because of that, traders are closely watching to see whether the latest RSI reading marks the start of a better period or the market will remain under pressure. The indicator has drawn attention, but price action in the coming weeks will give a clearer answer.

DOGE Crypto Traders Watch Q3 for Signs of Recovery

The latest chart has started another round of debate about what could happen during the rest of the third quarter. Some traders believe the current setup could support a recovery if buying returns. Others are taking a more cautious view because technical indicators do not always signal a price rebound.

Recent market history also gives mixed signals. August delivered small gains in the last two years, but the three years before that ended with sharp losses. That makes it hard to say with confidence what the next move will be.

For now, many traders are waiting instead of making bold calls. They want to see stronger buying before talking about a breakout. Until then, the market remains uncertain, and many expect the Dogecoin price movement to depend on broader conditions across the crypto market.

Dogecoin Community Shares Wallet Safety Reminder

While traders discuss the market, the Dogecoin community is also talking about wallet security. Dogecoin community member Mishaboar said smartphone wallets should not replace cold wallets for long-term savings.

He explained that smartphones are built to stay connected through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile networks, NFC, and other wireless services. That makes them very different from devices made only for offline storage.

He also said that switching off internet connections does not eliminate all risk. The phone still has its operating system, apps, and other software. If malware gets onto the device, it can remain there and send information later when the phone reconnects.

Mishaboar added that software wallets can have their own problems, including poor seed generation, unsafe updates, insecure backups, or hidden weaknesses that users may never notice.

He said smartphone wallets still have their place. They can be useful for payments, trading, and holding smaller amounts of DOGE crypto. For long-term holdings, however, he advised users to keep their coins in cold wallets instead. His comments came as wallet security remains an important topic for many cryptocurrency users.
