HashKey MENA has received Dubai VARA approval to launch BTC and ETH perpetual futures, giving the group a regulated pathway to offer crypto derivatives to traders in the United Arab Emirates.

What HashKey MENA's Dubai VARA approval covers

The approval clears HashKey MENA to launch perpetual futures contracts on Bitcoin and Ethereum, the two assets named in the group's newsroom announcement. For related coverage, see HashKey Secures Key Approval for Hong Kong IPO.

HashKey MENA FZE is listed on Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority public register, the regulator that oversees virtual asset activity in the emirate. For related coverage, see HashKey Files for Hong Kong IPO Confidentially.

The development is framed as a regulated launch, meaning the perpetual futures products fall under Dubai's supervisory framework rather than an offshore or unlicensed venue.
Why BTC and ETH perpetual futures matter for Dubai traders

Perpetual futures are one of the most widely used crypto derivatives formats, letting traders hold leveraged positions without a fixed expiry date, as HashKey outlines in its perpetual contracts trading guide. For related coverage, see HashKey Group Launches $214 Million Hong Kong IPO.

Bitcoin and Ethereum serve as the benchmark assets for the product, reflecting their position as the two largest crypto assets and the most liquid markets for derivatives activity.

Because the approval comes from Dubai's own virtual assets regulator, it positions the emirate as a venue where these products can be offered to regional traders within a licensed structure. HashKey's step-by-step material on placing a first perpetual trade indicates the products are aimed at active users rather than passive spot holders.

What the approval could signal for regulated crypto in MENA

The move builds on HashKey Group's earlier regional expansion, which began when it launched MENA operations with a UAE VASP license.

Adding regulated perpetual futures to that footprint could signal a maturing of local market infrastructure, extending the group's licensed activity from spot services toward derivatives.

The group has been pursuing growth on multiple fronts, including moves toward a Hong Kong IPO approval as it scales its regulated businesses across jurisdictions.

Any broader read on adoption or trading volumes remains unconfirmed, and the Dubai approval on its own establishes access to the products rather than a measured trend in usage.
