World xyz is a fully onchain prediction market built on&nbsp;<a href="https://bsc.news/post/solana-blockchain-ecosystem-deep-dive" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Solana</a>, now live inside the Phantom wallet and at world xyz. The project spent weeks building attention on X with little more than a glowing globe, cryptic posts, and the tagline "Trade Everything," fueling speculation it could be a&nbsp;<a href="https://bsc.news/post/what-are-memecoins-guide-how-they-work-2025" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">memecoin</a>, a trading app, or broader Solana infrastructure. It turned out to be a self-custodial platform for trading contracts tied to crypto prices and real-world events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
<h2 id="span-span-strong-how-did-world-xyz-stay-hidden-before-launch-strong-span-span">How Did World.xyz Stay Hidden Before Launch?</h2>
The account behind World xyz, world_xyz, built a following through social posts that gave almost no product detail. That secrecy also drew copycat WORLD-themed tokens on token launchpads, none of which are official World assets. The project's identity did not become clear until late June, when a legal disclosure on Phantom's site surfaced on X.
<h3 id="span-span-strong-what-markets-are-live-at-launch-strong-span-span">What Markets Are Live At Launch?</h3>
World opened with markets across two categories:
<ul>
 <li>Crypto prices, including short-duration&nbsp;<a href="https://bsc.news/post/what-is-bitcoin-how-it-works-mining-digital-gold-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin</a> up/down markets</li>
 <li>The 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup</li>
</ul>
Additional markets covering sports, geopolitics, and macroeconomics are planned in the weeks following launch, with frontend distribution partnerships expanding across traditional fintech and crypto throughout July.
<h2 id="span-span-strong-how-does-world-xyz-work-strong-span-span">How Does World xyz Work?</h2>
Unlike most prediction markets, which have historically relied on centralized infrastructure that requires moving funds off-chain, World keeps every market, position, and settlement onchain. Users trade directly against real Solana liquidity rather than a custodial wrapper, and funds stay in their wallet until they enter a market.
<h3 id="span-span-strong-settlement-and-redemption-strong-span-span">Settlement And Redemption</h3>
World uses $CASH, Phantom's settlement stablecoin, to handle winning positions. This allows for automatic, low-cost redemption directly inside the wallet, without a separate withdrawal step.
<h2 id="span-span-strong-why-does-world-xyz-use-chainlink-strong-span-span">Why Does World xyz Use Chainlink?</h2>
World partnered with&nbsp;<a href="https://bsc.news/post/what-is-chainlink" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Chainlink</a> to move away from legacy prediction market oracles, which tend to rely on slow, human-controlled resolution. Through Chainlink Data Streams and the Chainlink Runtime Environment, World gets high-speed market data and near-immediate resolution of contracts.&nbsp;
Johann Eid, chief business officer at Chainlink Labs, called World's adoption of Chainlink part of a broader shift among leading prediction markets toward decentralized oracle infrastructure, moving away from human-driven resolution models. Other event-contract platforms, including Polymarket for some price-based markets, have made similar moves toward oracle-based settlement.
<h2 id="span-span-strong-why-launch-inside-phantom-strong-span-span">Why Launch Inside Phantom?</h2>
Phantom is the most widely used wallet on Solana, giving World immediate access to tens of millions of active users without a separate app download. Users open Phantom, navigate to prediction markets, and can begin trading in seconds.&nbsp;
Pedro Miranda, head of consumer at the Solana Foundation, said prediction markets are among the most capable applications for a high-performance blockchain, positioning World to demonstrate real-time markets and onchain settlement inside a wallet people already use.&nbsp;
The launch also extends Phantom's existing push into in-app markets, which already includes Kalshi prediction markets and regulated derivatives. Will McComb, Phantom's product manager for money movement, said fast, low-cost settlement through CASH is central to how prediction markets function on Solana.
<h2 id="span-span-strong-is-world-xyz-the-only-solana-prediction-market-strong-span-span">Is World xyz The Only Solana Prediction Market?</h2>
No. Jupiter unveiled its own Forecast beta on June 29, offering 15-minute Bitcoin price markets, just days before World's launch. Both projects reflect growing competition among Solana-native platforms building event-contract trading directly into consumer wallets and apps rather than standalone sites.
<h2 id="span-span-strong-conclusion-strong-span-span">Conclusion</h2>
World xyz is a Solana-native prediction market that settles trades onchain using Chainlink for data and resolution and Phantom's CASH&nbsp;<a href="https://bsc.news/post/understanding-stablecoins-how-they-work-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">stablecoin</a> for redemption. It launches with crypto price markets and 2026 FIFA World Cup contracts, distributed directly through Phantom's existing user base, alongside a growing field of Solana-based prediction platforms that now includes Jupiter's Forecast.
<h2 id="span-span-strong-frequently-asked-questions-strong-span-span">Frequently Asked Questions</h2>
<h3 id="span-span-strong-is-world-xyz-a-memecoin-strong-span-span">Is World xyz A Memecoin?</h3>
No. Despite speculation fueled by its vague pre-launch marketing, World xyz is a non-custodial, fully onchain prediction market, not a token. Copycat WORLD-themed tokens on launchpads are not affiliated with the project.
<h3 id="span-span-strong-what-can-you-trade-on-world-xyz-strong-span-span">What Can You Trade On World xyz?</h3>
At launch, users can trade contracts on crypto prices, including short-duration Bitcoin up/down markets, and on the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup. More markets in sports, geopolitics, and macroeconomics are planned.
<h3 id="span-span-strong-how-do-i-access-world-xyz-strong-span-span">How Do I Access World xyz?</h3>
World is available at world(.)xyz and inside the Phantom wallet on iOS, Android, and desktop.
