Ripple's XRP continues attracting strong institutional interest despite weak short-term price performance. The token recently struggled near the $1.39 resistance zone and now trades close to $1.36. While sellers still control the broader trend, ETF demand remains surprisingly strong. Investors also continue watching growing network activity and falling exchange reserves for possible reversal signals. Although technical indicators remain cautious, several analysts believe rising institutional participation could support XRP during the next major market recovery phase.

XRP failed to hold above $1.39 on Thursday, allowing sellers to regain short-term control. The token currently trades slightly above the important $1.35 support level. Traders continue watching that area closely because another breakdown could trigger additional downside pressure toward $1.30. Technical indicators still favor caution across the daily chart. XRP remains below three major exponential moving averages, limiting bullish momentum.

The 50-day EMA sits near $1.41, while the 100-day EMA stands around $1.48. The 200-day EMA also remains far above current price action near $1.70. Those resistance levels continue restricting stronger recovery attempts. Momentum indicators also reflect weaker buying strength. The Relative Strength Index currently holds near 42, showing moderate bearish pressure without entering oversold conditions.

Meanwhile, the MACD histogram remains below zero, confirming short-term seller dominance. Several analysts believe bulls need stronger momentum before any breakout becomes possible. The $1.40 to $1.55 range now acts as a major recovery zone. A successful move above that area could improve broader sentiment and attract fresh buyers back into the market.

ETF Demand and Network Activity Stay Strong

Despite weaker price action, institutional interest continues growing steadily. Spot XRP ETFs recorded $12.57 million in inflows this week through Thursday, extending positive flows into a third consecutive week. Total cumulative inflows now stand near $1.39 billion, while assets under management reached approximately $1.15 billion. Thursday alone brought another $8.8 million in net inflows.

During May, XRP ETFs attracted roughly $107.3 million in fresh capital. US-based spot ETFs now hold around 1.34% of XRP’s total supply. Exchange reserve data also offered encouraging signs for bulls. Binance reserves declined from 2.78 billion XRP earlier this month to roughly 2.74 billion tokens. Lower exchange balances often suggest investors prefer holding assets rather than preparing immediate sales.

On-chain activity strengthened further after XRP Ledger added 4,300 new wallets within 24 hours on May 20. Santiment described that growth as one of 2026’s largest spikes. Daily active addresses also climbed sharply from 32,000 to 43,520 during the same period. Several analysts now view rising wallet activity and ETF inflows as early reversal signals. Although resistance remains strong.
