Several cryptocurrency analysts are again focusing on the broader altcoin market after months of weak sentiment and limited trading activity. Following the OTHERS chart approaching its long-term support level, which historically has gained new traction in the market, discussions increased as the total market capitalization of the currencies on the list (excluding the top five by market cap) was nearing that level. Other factors cited by traders were positive macroeconomic data, such as better U.S. manufacturing data and better small-cap stock performance. This month has seen the ISM PMI index surpassing the threshold of 52 become a talking point among digital asset investors.

Meanwhile, the sentiment of the market with the other cryptocurrencies was at a near-historically low level, reflecting conditions similar to previous accumulation periods. There was speculation that there would be regulatory clarity in the U.S. as well. In that context, some projects that are involved in the fields of AI, infrastructure, and blockchain utility took a prominent place, like Bittensor, QUBIC, Algorand, and Ethereum, and consequently became prominent names to monitor. While speculators seemed to be removing their time from meme coins, investors seemed to be shifting focus towards long-term network activities, analysts observed.

Bittensor saw a bull market recovery, during which it became one of the most talked-about AI-related cryptocurrencies. The salient features of the project were the decentralized machine-learning ecosystem and the growing network participation. If global investments in AI technology keep on the rise, the AI narrative may continue in the market through 2026, some market participants said.

In addition, QUBIC also reached a new audience of speculative investors who follow high-powered computing and decentralized processing initiatives. But as the asset continues to move in a volatile manner, interest in computational infrastructure has grown, with blockchain projects looking to bring AI-related services to their infrastructure.

On the other hand, Algorand got back to the market conversation when the signs of increased activity on the Algorand blockchain and development of the Algorand ecosystem began. It maintained its relevance in earlier cycles despite its lack of price performance, thanks to its low transaction costs and institutional relationships, analysts said. There was a possibility that some traders considered ALGO as a candidate to recover in case liquidity keeps coming into the altcoin market.

Ethereum Maintains Market Leadership

Ethereum continued to play a major role in the majority of altseason predictions due to its impact on the token ecosystems and Decentralized Finance (DeFi) space. Notably, analysts noted that the market structure on Ethereum remained better after consolidations earlier this year. Meanwhile, the network continued to have high developer activity relative to the other chains.

For some market players, Ethereum's performance may impact the overall alt market in the second half of 2026. Historically, big rallies to major cryptocurrencies other than Ethereum have seen their momentum boosted after the latter has gained some ground. Exposure to ETH products by institutions may have a persistent impact on overall and broad market liquidity, analysts said.

Despite growing optimism, analysts continued warning that volatility remains high across digital assets. They noted that macroeconomic weakness, delayed regulation, or reduced trading volume could slow momentum in the short term. However, current technical structures and sentiment readings continued attracting attention from traders searching for early altseason signals.
