<p><strong>Traders are increasingly betting</strong> on the Federal Reserve implementing a half-point interest rate cut by year-end, as indicated by recent activity in SOFR options. <a href="https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2025-10-15/slowdown-in-us-hiring-suggests-economy-still-needs-rate-cuts-feds-powell-says" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><strong>Jerome Powell's acknowledgment</strong></a> of downside risks to employment further fuels this speculation.</p>
<p><strong>The potential cut exceeds</strong> the current expectations in the market of two 25-basis-point reductions. The delay in U.S. economic data due to the government shutdown complicates the situation, leaving market players to navigate without full information.</p>
<blockquote>
 "Rising downside risks to employment have shifted our assessment of the balance of risks," said Jerome Powell, Chair of the Federal Reserve.
</blockquote>
<p><strong>Reactions from market participants</strong> include significant repositioning within options tied to <strong><a href="https://coincu.com/markets/bitcoin-futures-open-interest-surge/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SOFR</a></strong>. However, <strong>key figures remain cautious</strong> with <a href="https://www.jpmorgan.com/insights/global-research/economy/fed-rate-cuts" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Michael Feroli of J.P. Morgan</a> emphasizing that major labor market shifts are necessary to avert further cuts.</p>
