Galaxy, a well-known crypto analyst with over 116k followers on X, shared a striking long-term XRP chart that indicates history might be repeating. On the chart, XRP’s current structure almost copies its 2017 behavior.
The weekly chart shows consolidation just below the previous all-time high (ATH) – almost the same spot XRP paused before its explosive rally in late 2017. Back then, <a href="https://captainaltcoin.com/ripple-xrp-price-prediction/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP</a> spent months trading sideways under resistance before breaking out and soaring to record levels.
Today,<a href="https://captainaltcoin.com/is-xrp-about-to-explode-the-hidden-power-behind-it-is-shocking/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> XRP is again trading around</a> $2.85 to $2.99, just under the key resistance area between $3.22 and $3.65. A major trendline that once acted as resistance has already been broken. This clean breakout followed by tight consolidation is exactly what Galaxy highlights as the signal for the next leg up.
The pattern suggests that a sharp move above $3.65 – the old ATH zone – could open the door for a much larger run, with long-term targets possibly stretching to $5 and beyond, based on Fibonacci extensions and previous cycle momentum.

Back in 2017, XRP’s sideways action lulled the market into believing it had topped out. Then <a href="https://captainaltcoin.com/why-next-xrp-bull-run-could-be-10x-bigger-than-the-last/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">it exploded without warning</a>. Galaxy believes the same thing could happen again: “It will run again above all-time highs when people least expect it.”
The current weekly chart backs that view. The consolidation zone is holding above a major trendline and well above long-term support at $2.00, indicating that bulls are still in control. If price holds and volume builds, a breakout could be swift and powerful.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="fresh-etf-approval-adds-more-fuel">Fresh ETF Approval Adds More Fuel</h3>
While the chart is already bullish, fundamentals just turned hotter. The U.S. SEC has approved the Hashdex Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF to operate under new generic listing standards. Importantly, the fund can now hold crypto beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum – including XRP, Solana (SOL), and Stellar (XLM).

This means that <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/us/xrp-price-prediction-could-xrps-etf-launch-spark-a-rapid-rally-to-5-or-is-the-2-75-support-too-fragile-to-hold/articleshow/124078439.cms?from=mdr" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP could soon see direct institutional inflows from an ETF</a> for the first time. New demand from U.S.-regulated investment products could tighten supply and give bulls an extra push as XRP hovers near its key resistance.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="xrp-price-forecast-based-on-galaxy-s-analysis">XRP Price Forecast Based on Galaxy’s Analysis</h3>
If XRP follows the 2017 playbook, a break above $3.65 could be the spark for a parabolic rally. Near-term targets include $5 to $7, matching the percentage gain of the 2017 surge. Longer term, if the ETF inflows and growing institutional interest continue, XRP could climb well into double digits over the next major cycle.
Support levels remain clear. On any pullback, the $2.20 to $2.50 range and the $0.92 level are critical areas where buyers have consistently stepped in.
