Ethereum has been trading within the support of $4,200, but the critical resistance is at the level of $4,800. The middle of this channel, which is about $4,500, has served as a pivot zone where the momentum changes frequently. To sustain the upward trend, Ethereum has to stay above $4,200, which the 50-day EMA aids. Bears, however, warn of the $2 billion in <a href="https://www.coinglass.com/currencies/ETH" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">leveraged long positions</a> at risk near the $4,200 level. A loss of this support may cause a cascading liquidation and bring prices back to around $3,800-$3,600. The Ethereum market is at an intersection heading into August 31. To make prices rise again, buyers must regain momentum above $4450, and sellers are on the lookout at $4200, which they hope will drop.
