Rise

Krueger claims that this period will trigger a massive realignment of financial power. According to his projections, the United States could declare a financial emergency and convene a “New Bretton Woods” summit in Geneva. He believes this would lead to a radical restructuring of the monetary system, where the U.S. dollar becomes partially backed by Bitcoin and gold — each covering 25% of its value.

Krueger says the Federal Reserve may respond by launching a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and expanding its balance sheet to a staggering $44 trillion. As a result, Bitcoin could surge from $150,000 to $600,000, while gold might rise to $10,400. He also forecasts a collapse in the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY), dropping from 96 to 68, and a 50% plunge in the S&P 500.

Krueger’s Timeline: A Rapid Financial Breakdown

According to Krueger, the sequence begins with what he calls “Phase I: The Breach” during the first two weeks. He predicts that a $200 billion U.S. Treasury auction will be “barely covered,” which could spark a liquidity panic. Media headlines such as “Treasury Buyers Missing in Action” might emerge, while the Federal Reserve could begin hinting at “extraordinary measures” to maintain stability.

Krueger suggests that the 10-year Treasury yield could spike to 9.2% before the Fed is forced to intervene and “freeze” it. This, he says, would mark a loss of control over debt markets and push capital toward alternative assets like Bitcoin and gold.

Global Responses and the Shifting Monetary Order

Krueger speculates that these events would not go unnoticed globally. By mid-August, he believes that Germany might announce the euro will be backed 10% by gold reserves. Simultaneously, he expects that emerging markets such as Venezuela, Turkey, and Nigeria will begin shifting their reserves into Bitcoin, distancing themselves from the U.S. dollar.

In line with this shift, Krueger predicts that Tether will release a Bitcoin-backed stablecoin, further cementing crypto’s role in global finance. During this phase, he believes Bitcoin could climb past $265,000 and gold could reach $6,700.

By early September, Krueger anticipates intensified instability. Treasury yields could surpass 8.5%, triggering broad concern. In his view, real estate prices in the U.S. might collapse by 35%, Bitcoin might hit $390,000, and gold could surge to $8,900.

Institutional Adoption and Global Monetary Innovation

Later in September, Krueger envisions a historic move by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which he believes could unveil a new global reserve basket composed of 50% Bitcoin, 30% gold, 10% Chinese yuan, and 10% other currencies or commodities. At the same time, the Bank of England might introduce Bitcoin-backed gilt bonds, significantly boosting institutional credibility for crypto assets.

As a result, Krueger projects Bitcoin would soar to $525,000, reflecting growing optimism about decentralized finance replacing fiat-based models.

The Predicted Climax

Despite interventions such as freezing the 10-year yield at 9.2%, Krueger claims the Federal Reserve will be unable to halt the broader collapse. According to his scenario, Bitcoin would ultimately peak at $600,000, and gold would stabilize at $10,400. The S&P 500, he warns, could lose half its value, and the dollar index might bottom out at 68. He describes this as a total erosion of confidence in traditional finance.

As fiat-based systems unravel, Krueger suggests blockchain-native alternatives will rapidly gain traction. He highlights RLUSD — a stablecoin built on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum — as one potential winner. By the end of Q1 2025, he predicts RLUSD could reach a $44.2 million market cap on the XRPL alone, signaling an accelerating migration toward decentralized infrastructure.

Conclusion

Fred Krueger’s predictions outline a dramatic and sweeping reconfiguration of the global monetary order. Whether viewed as highly speculative or prescient, his thesis reflects rising skepticism toward fiat systems, central banks, and inflation-prone policies. According to Krueger, Bitcoin and blockchain-based finance are not merely alternatives — they are poised to become the new foundation of the global financial system.
