Blockchair, the leading universal blockchain explorer supporting 48 blockchains, announced today the launch of its Stacks Explorer. This addition brings Blockchair's powerful blockchain search and analytics tools to the Stacks ecosystem, furthering their mission to build a universal explorer for Bitcoin's ecosystem by incorporating the leading Bitcoin layer-2 solution. Blockchair's explorer also includes full support for sBTC, the 1:1 programmable Bitcoin asset launched on the Stacks mainnet in December 2024.
The Stacks Explorer offers deep insights into Stacks' on-chain activities, including transactions, addresses, smart contracts, and tokens. This development makes it easier for users, developers, and researchers to explore and interact with the network.
“At Blockchair, our mission is to be the most powerful and versatile Bitcoin explorer on the market, and that goal would be incomplete without embracing emerging Layer 2 solutions,” said Nikita Zhavoronkov, CEO and Lead Developer at Blockchair. “Stacks has been instrumental in extending Bitcoin’s functionality, so launching our Stacks Explorer felt like a natural step in reinforcing the broader Bitcoin ecosystem. We’re excited to bring our advanced search and analytics tools to Stacks users and developers, helping make on-chain data more accessible and fueling further innovation.”
Key features of the Stacks Explorer include:

Advanced Search & Analytics: Users can seamlessly explore transactions, addresses, and smart contract data, with new filtering options for more granular searches.

Developer & User-Friendly Features: The explorer provides access to powerful APIs (LLM API, JSON API, WebSocket API, Clickhouse API), data dumps, interactive charts, AI Assistant support, Smart-Search, PDF receipts, and wallet statements.

Comprehensive Address & Token Insights: A detailed overview of Stacks-native assets and activity, including full support for sBTC transactions and holdings.

Full Support for the Nakamoto Upgrade: Ensuring compatibility with the latest advancements in Stacks, including the 100% Bitcoin finality feature.

Privacy-Focused Experience: Blockchair prioritizes user privacy, offering a tracker-free experience.

By providing a dedicated explorer on Blockchair with enhanced search capabilities, Blockchair is supporting the evolution of Bitcoin's programmability. This launch provides transparency and accessibility, particularly with the inclusion of sBTC data. The explorer supports developers with better data tools for building dApps and smart contracts, enables users to track Stacks-based DeFi solutions more efficiently, and encourages more adoption of Bitcoin L2 solutions by making them easier to explore and understand.
Blockchair's support for Stacks and its assets, especially sBTC, contributes to the visibility and accessibility of Bitcoin Layer 2 solutions. Blockchair’s support for sBTC is expected to drive further innovation and adoption in the Bitcoin ecosystem, particularly as sBTC moves towards full functionality with withdrawals expected in March 2025.
The Stacks Explorer is currently available, ensuring users have the most up-to-date and comprehensive view of the Stacks ecosystem and its sBTC integration.

About Stacks
Stacks, the leading Bitcoin L2, enables smart contracts and decentralized applications to use Bitcoin as a secure base layer. The Nakamoto release, activated on October 29, 2024, brought faster speeds and transactions that are as irreversible as Bitcoin's once confirmed. This set the stage for sBTC, a programmable Bitcoin asset, which launched on December 17, 2024. Stacks is the current leading Bitcoin L2 by developer traction and market cap and is helping unlock Bitcoin and its $1T in passive capital as a fully programmable, productive asset. The Stacks (STX) token, used as gas on the L2, was the first to undergo an SEC-qualified sale in the United States. The project explicitly decentralized with the mainnet launch in 2021. In the Stacks ecosystem, there are currently 30+ contributing entities including a non-profit Stacks Foundation, a developer tooling company Hiro, Xverse, Trust Machines, Mechanism, Bitcoin L2 Labs, ALEX, Bitcoin Frontier Fund, and more.
