Ethereum— ETH, post-election gains have largely vanished, raising questions about whether a bull run is still possible. As Ethereum’s reserves hit a six-year low, uncertainty looms. Will this lead to a market reversal, or is Ethereum headed for more losses? While current signs show weakness, a slight shift in reserves might hint at a potential turnaround. Let’s dive into the factors that could influence Ethereum’s next move.

But despite this, reserves increased by 0.62% in January, even as the price dropped 6%. This small rise could be a sign that investors are holding on to their assets. Instead of selling, they may be betting on future growth.

This change might signal a shift toward long-term holding, potentially paving the way for more buying interest. However, Ethereum’s struggle against Bitcoin continues. The ETH/BTC pair has formed lower lows, showing weakness compared to the dominant cryptocurrency. Even when the RSI hit overbought levels, Ethereum failed to see new capital flows, which is a major concern.

Can Ethereum Compete Amidst Growing Threats?

XRP’s market cap has more than doubled in the last 30 days, putting additional pressure on Ethereum. As XRP gains, Ethereum risks losing market share. Bitcoin’s strong performance in January only deepens the gap between the two assets, highlighting Ethereum’s struggles.

For a recovery, Ethereum will need more than just a few loyal holders. A broader market shift is essential. Without this, Ethereum could dip further to $2,612, risking $19 billion worth of ETH. That’s a lot of potential losses if panic selling takes hold.

Ethereum’s reserves hitting a six-year low show signs of long-term holding. However, competition from XRP and ongoing market uncertainty leave the chance of a bull run in doubt.
