Lens Lab, the main developer of the decentralized social media application Lens Protocol, which is part of the Web3 project Avara, proposed the development of its own <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/grayscale-reveals-5-billion-ethereum-accumulation-after-sec-victory/" data-wpel-link="internal">Ethereum</a> Virtual Machine-compatible Layer-2 network, the Lens Network. The Lens Network will serve as an EVM-compatible Validium network developed using zkSync’s Layer-2 development roll-up called ZK Stack. 
<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify" id="what-to-expect-for-the-lens-network">What to Expect for the Lens Network?</h2> 
Lens Network will transition in three phases: starting with a Validium network on Ethereum. This step will be followed by the introduction of a <a href="https://newslinker.co/" data-wpel-link="exclude">data</a> availability provider and finally the integration of Volition to enhance security and user control over transactions. 
Validium and Volition are known as blockchain scaling solutions that use zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs but have different security assumptions. Avara’s founder, Stani Kulechov, shared the following statements on the subject:

 “Lens Network creates a hybrid architecture that combines Validium and Volition with the ZK Stack on Ethereum. This will not only scale but also make the internet more open and fair.” 
</blockquote> 
So far, the project has been using the Polygon POS network to execute transactions and had previously developed its own scaling solution called Momoka.

Lens is defined as a social graph that represents decentralized and user-owned connections and relationships between individuals and entities. NFTs that act as user profiles allow users to interact with decentralized applications within their own ecosystem. The design of Lens-based dapps successfully prevents any entity from having control over the content. 
Lens Network will power a new version of the Lens Protocol, which will serve as a central hub for Lens users. This hub will seamlessly integrate with other EVM and non-EVM blockchain networks. 
Although the Lens Protocol has recently managed to take notable steps, it continues to be the target of criticism from the community. The processes handled by the team were frequently criticized by the airdrop-focused community, leading to a decrease in the number of users within the ecosystem.
