In a notable move to protect users, ZachXBT, a prominent cryptocurrency intelligence and <a href="https://en.bitcoinhaber.net/alert-trezor-confirms-phishing-attack-via-compromised-email-service" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">security</a> expert, has taken a significant step to assist victims of the Munchables <a href="https://en.bitcoinhaber.net/alert-for-binance-tr-users-rising-scam-incidents-demand-caution" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">hack</a>. Munchables, a GameFi protocol, fell victim to a security breach which led to stolen user funds. To enhance the security of these funds, ZachXBT has been added as a key signatory to the multisig wallet holding the compromised assets.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Multisig wallets, known for their enhanced security, mandate multiple approvals before any asset movement can occur. The design of a multisig wallet is such that it thwarts unauthorized access to funds even if several key holders are compromised. In the case of Munchables, the addition of ZachXBT as the fourth signatory aims to establish a more secure environment for a refund process to the affected users.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Joining ZachXBT are Manifold Trading, Selini Capital, and Munchables itself, all of whom serve as signatories to the multisig wallet. Prior to restarting operations, the GameFi developers are also committed to conducting a thorough code audit through Nethermind. This move is intended to reveal and rectify any potential vulnerabilities, thereby shoring up defenses against future security breaches.</p>
<h3 id="points-to-take-into-account">Points to Take into Account</h3>

 <li>ZachXBT’s involvement in the multisig is a temporary measure to secure the initial refund period.</li>
 <li>Contributors who helped thwart the attack will be compensated with <a href="https://en.bitcoinhaber.net/ethereums-performance-and-price-predictions-by-a-veteran-investor" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ethereum</a> and potential future donations.</li>
 <li>The hack, which involved a substantial $63 million theft, was followed by an investigation questioning the involvement of the anonymous developer.</li>
 <li>The suspect later returned the private wallet keys voluntarily, enabling the recovery of the stolen funds.</li>

<p style="text-align: justify">ZachXBT’s confirmation to join the multisig wallet has been made with the understanding that his role is a temporary one. He anticipates the Munchables team will announce a rotation of signers in the near future. The collective effort and the security measures taken post-incident reflect the increasing resilience of the cryptocurrency community against fraudulent activities and the importance of a unified response to cyber threats.</p>
