TLDR
1. Solana becomes the fourth largest cryptocurrency by total market cap.
2. It has surpassed ETH in terms of daily trading volume this month.
3. NuggetRush is a leading memecoin that has real-world features such as P2E gaming and NFT staking.
Over the weekend, the Solana network saw a big increase in activity, even more than Ethereum, another popular network. But Solana struggled to handle all the new users, which caused lots of transactions to fail or get delayed. On March 17, Solana had about $3 billion in trading volume in just 24 hours, beating Ethereum's $2.04 billion. The day before, on March 15, Solana hit a new high with $3.79 billion in trading volume. This sudden spike was because many people were excited about new meme coins on Solana, like Book of Meme (BOME), which went from almost nothing to being worth $1.45 billion in just 56 hours.
Meanwhile, memecoins are pushing the trends a step ahead with an increase in the trading volumes. Top crypto coins like NuggetRush have seen a steady rise in the investor’s money on their presale. The increase in trading overwhelmed Solana's network this month. Ping times, which show how fast the network responds, went up to 46 seconds on March 18. Because of this, about 30-40% of transactions failed. Despite these issues, the price of Solana cryptocurrency went up to $203 which is 8.69% higher than it was in the last 24 hours. Moreover it is 45% higher than a week ago making it the best crypto to buy now. Solana's crypto market cap also hit a new high of $89.3 billion making it the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market value. It has crossed Binance Coin (BNB) in terms of total market value this year.
The interest in Solana (SOL) on Google Trends has skyrocketed, showing how popular it's becoming. Its market value has grown by up to 10 times, making it the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by value. It's now even bigger than BNB Chain by over four billion dollars, according to CoinMarketCap. This week, SOL's value went up a lot. This made its decentralized exchange (dex) platforms very successful, making Solana's blockchain one of the top choices for trading in 24 hours. Solana's dex platforms traded $2.802 billion, beating Ethereum's $2.03 billion.
Solana's dex apps have $1.248 billion locked in, while Ethereum's dexes have $3.255 billion. Solana's non-fungible token (NFT) sales reached $65,053,736 this week, ranking third after Bitcoin and Ethereum. But overall, Solana is second only to Ethereum in NFT sales, with $5.22 billion in total sales. This makes it the most popular NFT platform for digital art collections in the entire world.
