An agreement unveiled on February 16 at the Munich Security Conference formalized this commitment and presented a united front against the possible abuse of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.</p>

Notable among these is a robocall campaign using synthetic audio, purportedly from US President Joe Biden, aimed at discouraging voter participation in New Hampshire’s presidential primary.</p>
<p>Despite the proliferation of text-generation technologies, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the accord primarily targets the more insidious threat of AI-generated photos, videos, and audio. According to Dana Rao, Adobe’s Chief Trust Officer, the decision stems from the observation that visual and auditory content often carries a stronger emotional impact, making it more likely to be perceived as credible by the public.</p>
