Circle is the co-creator and primary issuer of USDC. Along with Coinbase under the Centre Consortium, Circle helped launch USDC in 2018. It manages reserves, ensures 1:1 backing with U.S. dollars, and facilitates integration with financial institutions and blockchain networks.
