Polygen is the Community’s Launchpad, the first truly decentralized launchpad where projects are free to innovate, experiment and launch their ventures with no gatekeepers, no whitelist and no whales. Projects have complete freedom to decide how much they want to raise, what auction mechanism they want to use, how they do their tiering, and they can operate any Project round (seed, private, public), or connect rounds.

Traditional launchpads only select a few projects to launch every month via gatekeeper panels, based on their strict ROI criteria. They are focused on short-term results and achieving a large return multiple to satisfy the needs of their short-term investor communities. Great projects may miss out, Projects must get it exactly right the first time and Projects must adhere to the launchpads requirements

The centralised gatekeeper approach creates a number of problems for Projects:

-Lack of transparency -Great projects may miss out on fundraise opportunities -Launchpad prioritises itself over the project and investors -Project token often “pumped and dumped” by the launchpad community -Post launch, the project is left without community as the launchpad community moves on to next project

To solve this problem, we created a launchpad that provides transparency and gives projects the ability to innovate and experiment.

But how do we do that?

Fair Launch Offering (FLO)

We create a fair launch offering using a Dutch Auction process. This is a fairer auction system that creates a balanced playing field for investors. During a dutch auction, the price of a token starts at the highest asking price and then lowers over time. This gives everyone the opportunity to buy in at the price they feel a token is worth. This is also known as the descending price auction or a uniform price auction. Polygen uses this form of auction on our platform to ensure a fair sale of tokens and that whales do not unduly affect the price of a token in a raise. On Polygen, anybody can launch a project with no fee and anyone can take part as long as they have KYC'd, there is no minimum contribution.

Polygen does not put any demands on projects. Projects, in a completely decentralized and permissionless manner, provide their relevant metadata, raise details and then the community can immediately participate in the project.

Exceptional Projects will also have the ability to be ‘featured’ on our DApp in the future.
