Moonsama is a blockchain tailored to support the development of metaverses, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and Web3 gaming. It was created by a world-class team of blockchain engineers. Moonsama is a standalone network based on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This makes it extremely developer-friendly, as it allows external projects to start building or migrate existing projects to Moonsama effortlessly and access its capabilities, including the ability to create and trade large volumes of tokenized in-game items and other NFTs in fields such as gaming, music and fashion.

Moonsama’s blockchain was launched in October 2022, about a year after its main governing collection launched and has since grown to over 30+ team members and have built active vibrant metaverses. This Layer 1 was built due to the increasing complexity of our family of products combined with the nearing risk of outgrowing the platforms where our technology was being deployed, calling for a tailor-made network rather than relying on third-party blockchains. It underpins the Moonsama ecosystem, which offers a variety of products and services such as: Multi-chain blockchain solutions, NFT collections, Games, Web3 assets, NFT marketplaces, and Metaverses.

Moonsama uses the revolutionary proof of authority (POA) consensus protocol using non-fungible tokens (NFTs) from the Moonsama collection as a voting mechanism to govern the blockchain. This system has been tested in our ecosystem and has also gained the attention of Gavin Wood, a co-founder of Ethereum and Polkadot. The SAMA coin is the native currency used on Moonsama and is primarily used to pay for gas fees as well as being integrated into Moonsama’s services. It is optimized for large volumes of in-game items, governance, digital asset creation, and connecting Web3 and Web2 applications. The network has low transaction costs and fast block confirmations, averaging around 5 seconds with fees being low, making it suitable for large amounts of transactions for metaverses and gaming. Moonsama is tailored to the needs of gaming and NFTs in Web3.

Moonsama will eventually transfer into a fully-fledged Polkadot parachain to benefit from its interoperability with other blockchains, shared security mechanism and the tech needed to build out specific functionality for increased efficiency of the blockchain.
