VanEck Pulls SEC Filing, Gives No Reason</h2>
As of October 15, 2026, the Lido Ethereum ETF is off the table. In <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-news-today-october-15-bitcoin-ethereum-defi-price-drop" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto news today</a>, sponsor Digital Assets filed a Form RW withdrawal request dated October 14, 2026, asking the to withdraw the registration for the Lido Staked Ethereum ETF.&nbsp;
The filing says does not intend to proceed with the planned distribution of shares.
The Block also covered this crypto news i<a href="https://x.com/TheBlockCo/status/2110483696675389522?s=20" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">n its post on X</a>, reporting that gave no reason for the move.<img alt="The Block official tweet" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/9pTjjLLVziAgUjjGWcxxlH5OZEufSYMA9l4MnEgX.png" width="300" title="The Block official tweet">

VanEck first submitted its<a href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2091159/000162828025045249/vanecklidostakedethereumet.htm" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">S-1 registration statement</a> on October 16, 2025.
<a href="https://blog.lido.fi/vaneck-files-for-lido-staked-eth-etf/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Lido’s own announcement</a> described the fund as a compliant, tax-efficient route to stETH exposure for institutions.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-why-did-vaneck-withdraw-lido-ethereum-etf-span-span">Why Did VanEck Withdraw Lido Ethereum ETF?</h2>
The letter, signed by vice president Matthew A. Babinsky, offers no motive. The Lido Ethereum ETF reason is therefore unknown, and any explanation stays speculation.
This is a voluntary pullback, not an SEC rejection. They asked the to consent to the withdrawal, and the filing does not show the regulator’s response.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-is-lido-ethereum-etf-cancelled-span-span">Is Lido Ethereum ETF Cancelled?</h2>
For this registration, confirmed that no shares have been or will be issued. That closes the path for&nbsp;as filed. Lido stETH ETF news today points to a closed filing, not a launch.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-will-lido-etf-launch-in-the-us-span-span">Will Lido ETF Launch in the US?</h2>
Not under this registration. A Lido staked ETF would need a new filing, and VanEck’s letter announces no replacement.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-happens-to-steth-after-etf-withdrawal-span-span">What Happens to stETH After ETF Withdrawal?</h2>
The letter concerns the fund registration only. It does not mention the stETH token, the Lido DAO, or LDO. The letter addresses only the fund’s planned share offering, so the token’s own market data is the better gauge.

Analysts following <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-news-english" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto news</a> may read the move as a product decision rather than a market signal, since stated no reason.
Any Lido ETF withdrawal impact on ETH price remains unproven, and no source links the stETH/ETH rate to the filing.&nbsp;
The request cites one registration, so a spot Ethereum ETF or any other&nbsp;<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-etf-news-today-bitcoin-ethereum-inflows-before-cpi-ppi" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto ETF</a> sits outside it. It also does not rule out a future Ethereum staking ETF or liquid staking ETF from other sponsors.
Readers tracking ETF news and staked ETH ETF news today may watch whether the SEC consents to the SEC S-1 withdrawal. Any <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/sec-crypto-news-two-days-after-cboe-kpi-binary-options-nod" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SEC registration </a>withdrawal order would likely appear on EDGAR.
