<p>Uphold, after introducing a self-custody wallet at the end of the previous year, is now incorporating support for Bitcoin (BTC).</p>
<p>The firm made this announcement through an official statement.</p>
<h2 id="the-need-for-enhanced-security">The Need for Enhanced Security</h2>
<p>Uphold’s CEO, Simon McLoughlin, stated that with the increasing number of Bitcoin owners, the demand for improved security and convenient trading is becoming more evident.</p>
<p>He acknowledged the difficulties users often encounter when managing their Bitcoin keys and wallets.</p>
<h2 id="the-vault-wallet">The Vault Wallet</h2>
<p>When the Vault wallet was first introduced, it primarily supported the XRP token.</p>
<p>Uphold initially launched the wallet in beta, with plans for a full release during the early part of the current year.</p>
<p>Since its inception in 2015, Uphold has catered to over 10 million customers across more than 140 countries.</p>
