Non-custodial crypto wallet provider Bitget Wallet announced that it would enable developers to connect Telegram Mini Apps into multichain ecosystems using a software development kit called OmniConnect.&nbsp;
On Sept. 27, the wallet provider said in a press release sent to Cointelegraph that developers could use the OmniConnect development kit to connect Telegram Mini Apps to the broader crypto ecosystem, which includes the TON, Solana and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchains.&nbsp;
A Bitget spokesperson told Cointelegraph that the integration allows Mini Apps to use Bitget Wallet for transacting and signing across blockchain networks.
<h2 id="interoperability-for-telegram-mini-apps">Interoperability for Telegram Mini Apps</h2>
Telegram Mini Apps could previously only connect to The Open Network (TON). However, with the new integration, Bitget Wallet believes Telegram can transform into a “comprehensive gateway to Web3.” The wallet provider claims this would facilitate a “smoother” transition from Web2 to Web.&nbsp;
Bitget Wallet’s chief operating officer, Alvin Kan, said in the announcement that the new integration bridges a gap. He explained:&nbsp;

 “Previously, Telegram Mini Apps could only interact with the TON network, making it difficult to engage with other public chains. Bitget Wallet’s OmniConnect aims to bridge this gap, enabling seamless multichain interaction via Bitget Wallet.”

Kan also expressed excitement about developers and ecosystems helping to build a “more open” Web3 environment on Telegram.&nbsp;
In addition to these, Bitget Wallet said it would announce other initiatives that aim to empower the Telegram Mini App ecosystem.&nbsp;
A Bitget spokesperson also told Cointelegraph that while third parties offer solutions in Telegram, most apps only work with specific networks. The spokesperson believes that this tool is the first offering from any ecosystem that allows integration with the broader ecosystem.

As digital assets walk the path to broader mainstream adoptions, projects within the Web3 ecosystem have been advocating and moving toward a more interconnected industry.&nbsp;
On Aug. 6, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/vitalik-buterin-unveils-plan-solve-cross-chain-l2-interoperability" rel="null" target="null" text="null" title="null">revealed plans to solve interoperability</a> challenges on the Ethereum network. According to Buterin, the solutions may surprise many in the space.&nbsp;
On Sept. 18, the decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator 1inch network <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/1inch-cross-chain-swap-feature-fusion" rel="null" target="null" text="null" title="null">revealed a feature</a> that would allow cross-chain swaps. The feature uses offchain and onchain liquidity to power crypto swaps.&nbsp;
Bitcoin core developer Jeff Garzik founded the Hemi Network to “unite” Ethereum and Bitcoin using tunnels. In a <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/hemi-network-tunneling-connects-bitcoin-ethereum-secure-cross-chain" rel="" target="_self" text="null" title="https://cointelegraph.com/news/hemi-network-tunneling-connects-bitcoin-ethereum-secure-cross-chain">previous Cointelegraph interview</a>, the project’s chief technology officer told Cointelegraph that tunnels would allow assets to move from Bitcoin to Ethereum without cross-chain bridges.&nbsp;
