Crypto commentator BankXRP posted a video from Ripple’s Swell 2026 conference, and the crypto community took notice. The clip shows Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse personally introducing U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to the stage.
For XRP holders watching the space, the moment carried real significance. This is the 10th annual Swell conference. Ripple hosted its first in Toronto. A decade later, the guest list has changed considerably.

Garlinghouse revealed that he met Bessent years before taking his current role, and called him “someone who I have a great deal of respect for.” He then welcomed the Secretary to the stage in front of the excited Swell 2026 audience.
Bessent currently serves as the 79th Treasury Secretary and sits fifth in the line of presidential succession. The moment puts Ripple in direct conversation with the highest levels of U.S. financial policy.
That is a different position than the company held just a few years ago, when it was locked in a <a href="https://timestabloid.com/ripple-v-sec-case-lasted-longer-than-every-other-sec-crypto-lawsuit/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">prolonged legal dispute with the SEC</a>. Now, Ripple has ties in the White House, and its influence is growing rapidly.

Bessent told the Swell audience that technological leadership is replacing military strength as the foundation of reserve currency power.
He said U.S. stablecoin dominance will fortify the dollar and create a new financing source for the federal government. The community <a href="https://timestabloid.com/xrp-proponent-predicts-biggest-news-of-the-year-at-ripple-swell-2026/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">has been anticipating major announcements</a>, and his comments reinforce the confidence of many in the market’s future.
The Swell appearance does not exist in isolation. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency <a href="https://timestabloid.com/ripple-ceo-says-this-big-news-for-xrp-holders-ripple-national-trust-bank-finally-approved/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">granted Ripple a national trust bank charter</a> just before the conference. This authorizes the company to manage reserves for its RLUSD stablecoin and provide digital asset custody to institutional clients.
<h2 id="strong-xrp-in-the-spotlight-strong">XRP in the Spotlight</h2>
BankXRP’s post put a clear lens on what the Swell moment represents for XRP holders. A U.S. Treasury Secretary appearing at a Ripple event shortly after the company secured a federal bank charter shows that Ripple has earned a legitimate place in U.S. financial infrastructure conversations.
XRP serves as the native asset of the XRP Ledger. It <a href="https://timestabloid.com/xrp-as-a-bridge-currency-will-skyrocket-its-price-heres-the-proof/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">functions as a bridge currency</a> across Ripple’s payment network. As Ripple’s institutional footprint grows, so does the infrastructure that XRP operates within.
<h2 id="strong-institutional-recognition-on-the-record-strong">Institutional Recognition on the Record</h2>
Bessent’s appearance at Swell 2026 is now part of the public record. A sitting Treasury Secretary chose to participate in Ripple’s flagship annual event. That decision reflects where Ripple stands today relative to U.S. financial regulators and policymakers. For XRP, this is what institutional recognition looks like in practice.
