Jupiter

Meteora

SeNo, who writes about providing liquidity on Solana, argued on Nov. 5 that a new Meteora pool with a lower fee can draw Jupiter swaps away from the first pool to serve a memecoin. His example pits two pools with the same spacing between price levels against one another. One charges a 5% base fee, while the rival charges 2%. The comparison raises a question for traders and liquidity providers: how much can the cheaper pool fill before another route offers a better quote?

Following up on my previous post about Bin Step, here’s a playbook for adjusting fees as a token matures without undercutting yourself.— SeNo (@SeNoFinance) November 5, 2026

The two rates are scenarios in SeNo’s playbook. He did not publish a comparison of actual Jupiter fills at those rates. Meteora’s documentation explains why the fee comparison alone leaves room for different outcomes. Its DLMM pools divide liquidity into bins, each with a fixed price. A swap can use the liquidity available at the current price, then move through additional bins at different prices. The protocol can also charge a variable fee on top of the base fee as volatility changes.

A small swap could fit in a low-fee pool’s active bin and get the better price. A larger swap could use up that liquidity and cross into less favorable prices. If the higher-fee pool can fill more at a favorable price, it may offer a better quote on the larger trade. Jupiter’s swap documentation says its onchain engine can split trades across venues, so a route can also use both pools.
To test SeNo’s example, compare quotes for the same token pair and trade direction at several order sizes in the same market window. Record the amount out and which pools each quote uses. That would show where the cheaper pool starts to lose its edge and whether the router switches pools or splits the order. Actual fills would be the next check for anyone measuring how much trade flow the fee cut attracted.
