Is Based Moving Beyond Hyperliquid With LayerZero ATLAS?

Based, the trading app known as a popular Hyperliquid wallet gateway, says it is building on LayerZero ATLAS. It is the first time the trading platform will build in a new ecosystem. Zero mainnet and ATLAS are scheduled to go live on 30 November 2026.

It promises 24/7 markets and instant settlement. The announcement adds that the stack runs on Zero with initial capacity above 250,000 TPS and sub-millisecond median latency. Those are project claims, not independently tested results.

LayerZero confirmed the plan in its own post on X. It described Based as the team building the product for traders, while ATLAS does the heavy lifting underneath. This is the first public look at the LayerZero partnership, and more details are expected before launch.

What Is LayerZero ATLAS and Why Would Based Build on It?

LayerZero introduced ATLAS in August 2026 as a headless exchange engine. It has no consumer app of its own. Third-party platforms handle onboarding and the trading screen, which is where the platform fits in.
Zero is the LayerZero Zero blockchain, first announced in February 2026. Technical details about the chain sit on the LayerZero website. ATLAS is planned as the first application on that network, which makes the LayerZero ATLAS launch a test for both products at once.

Can One Stack Really Handle Matching, Clearing and Settlement?

Traditional markets split these jobs across several firms. ATLAS puts them in one stack, and that is the core pitch behind LayerZero institutional trading.
Instant settlement would shorten the gap between a trade and final ownership. Whether it holds up at scale will only be clear after mainnet starts.

How Large Is the Based Trading Platform on Hyperliquid Today?

The team says it is the second largest wallet on Hyperliquid by volume. It reports more than 45,000 active addresses and over $50 billion in processed volume to date. This reported trading volume gives the team real order flow to bring to a new venue.
Users can reach the product through the Based website. The team says its mission is the best possible trading experience.

Why Does the Based Hyperliquid Expansion Matter Now?

Hyperliquid has been Based's home base so far. The post describes an expansion, not an exit, though it does not explain what happens to existing Hyperliquid trading.
The team says the move brings competitive fees, high performance and 24/7 access to global markets. It also opens the app to high-volume traders and institutions, a group that usually looks for deep books before committing size.

Which Institutions Back Zero, and What Does That Signal?

The announcement named Tether, Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Citadel Securities and ARK Invest as institutions backing Zero.
The post does not detail their exact roles. The names point to ambitions around institutional crypto liquidity, but a list of backers is not a liquidity commitment.

What Happens on 30 November for Based Users?

Trading powered by LayerZero ATLAS will be available through its mobile app and web terminal from launch.
That brings 24/7 crypto trading closer for Based users, with instant settlement as the stated goal. Which global crypto markets appear first has not been announced.

Expert Take: What Could Change After Launch?

The data suggests the platform brings volume and users, while LayerZero provides the infrastructure. The numbers to track are 250,000 TPS, sub-millisecond latency, 45,000 active addresses and $50 billion in volume. The first two are claims until mainnet runs live.
The main uncertainty remains execution. A delay to the Zero mainnet launch, thin early liquidity or unclear fees could all change how the debut is received.
The LayerZero ATLAS 2026 rollout will also show how many venues choose to plug in. Ongoing crypto latest news coverage will likely track those details as they appear.

Conclusion

The platform plans to move part of its trading stack onto LayerZero ATLAS, with a shared 30 November 2026 launch date. The facts are clear on timing, backers and claimed capacity.
Fees, listings and live performance are still open. Among crypto news today, this is one of the more concrete infrastructure stories heading into December.
