KuCoin has picked 5 November 2026 as the cut-off for the BNC to BNCOLD Migration. Deposits and withdrawals, trading bot support, and BNC/USDT trading all stop that day, each at a different hour.&nbsp;
Holders, bot operators and API developers therefore have different things to check.
Exchanges rename tokens every so often, and the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-details/crypto-exchange-listing-how-crypto-tokens-get-listed-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">exchange listing process</a> shows how a token’s label first lands on a platform.&nbsp;
This article sticks to what KuCoin has said and marks what it hasn’t. Times appear in UTC and IST, and KuCoin’s status page shows which changes are already live.
Quick answer: KuCoin will switch BNC to BNCOLD on its own, at a 1:1 rate. On 5 November 2026, deposits, bots, and BNC/USDT trading stop. On 6 November, API users may see their WebSocket connection drop.
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-is-the-bnc-to-bncold-ticker-change-happening-on-kucoin-span-span">What Is the BNC to BNCOLD Ticker Change Happening on Kucoin?</h2>
On 2 November 2026, KuCoin said it will rename the Bifrost token from BNC to BNCOLD on its platform. Bifrost is part of the<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/complete-polkadot-ecosystem-guide-dot-technology-overview" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Polkadot ecosystem</a>, and BNC is its native token.
A ticker is the short code that appears next to a token on trading pages, balances, and orders. It works like a name tag. In this BNC to BNCOLD Migration, only that tag changes on KuCoin, so any BNC held there will show up as BNCOLD.
Holders do not need to do anything for the swap. KuCoin says each balance converts at 1:1, so 1 BNC turns into 1 BNCOLD in the same account. The number of tokens stays the same, but the swap does not lock the price.
<h3 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-how-do-ticker-changes-token-conversion-and-api-updates-differ-span-span">How Do Ticker Changes, Token Conversion, and API Updates Differ?</h3>
Plenty of people treat these as one thing. They are separate parts of the same update.
<ul>
 <li>Ticker change:this is only the name. Where KuCoin used to show BNC, it will show BNCOLD.</li>
 <li>Token conversion: this is what happens to the balance. An account holding 100 BNC ends up holding 100 BNCOLD.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
 <li>API and WebSocket updates: this part is for bots and apps linked to KuCoin. They may lose connection for a short while, or their symbols may need a quick check.</li>
</ul>
The 1:1 ratio fixes the token count only. Price and total value can still move.
On the technical side, the notice names only the PRO and Classic WebSocket. Those connections may drop, lose data, or lag on 6 November, and reconnecting restores them. The notice does not say every API endpoint has to be migrated.
KuCoin’s documentation also points out that a coin’s name can be edited, so the currency field is the reliable way to look a coin up. That does not confirm any BNCOLD symbol. Live API responses are still the safer check.

The migration runs across two days, so timing matters more than the ratio. IST is UTC+5:30.

</table>The notice gives no completion time for the conversion and no reopening schedule. KuCoin only promises follow-up announcements.
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-happens-to-running-trading-bots-that-hold-bnc-on-kucoin-span-span">What Happens to Running Trading Bots That Hold BNC on-KuCoin?</h2>
KuCoin-plans to end Trading Bot support for BNC at 09:00 UTC on 5 November, or 2:30 pm IST. The notice lists seven strategies: Spot Grid, AI Spot Trend, Spot Martingale, Infinity Grid, DCA, Spot Grid AI Plus, and Smart Rebalance.
Running bots should be closed before that time. Any bot still active at the deadline is shut down by the system.
The notice does not explain what happens to bot-held balances or strategy settings afterward. Operators of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-details/crypto-trading-bots-top-10-picks-reviewed-and-compared-for-2026" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto trading bots</a> should check balances and bot status once the migration is over, rather than assuming everything carried across cleanly.
<h3 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-should-api-and-websocket-users-check-before-the-switch-span-span">What Should API and WebSocket Users Check Before the Switch?</h3>
Many programs hard-code a trading symbol. If that symbol contains BNC, a closer look is needed.
<ul>
 <li>Go through every script, bot, and dashboard, and note the ones that use BNC.</li>
 <li>Match those against the current data in the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kucoin.com/docs-new/rest/spot-trading/market-data/get-all-symbols" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">KuCoin symbol documentation</a>.</li>
 <li>Add reconnect logic for 6 November, since stale or missing data is possible.</li>
 <li>Pause automated BNC orders until the new symbol status is clear.</li>
</ul>
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-happens-to-bnc-deposits-withdrawals-and-pending-orders-span-span">What Happens to BNC Deposits, Withdrawals, and Pending Orders?</h2>
Deposits and withdrawals are scheduled to close at 08:00 UTC, two hours before BNC/USDT stops at 10:00 UTC. In that gap, trading stays open, but BNC cannot move on or off the exchange.
KuCoin-recommends cancelling pending orders early. After the swap, on-chain deposits must use BNCOLD. The notice names no BNCOLD trading pair and gives no reopening time.
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-how-can-bnc-holders-prepare-before-the-conversion-is-complete-span-span">How Can BNC Holders Prepare Before the Conversion Is Complete?</h2>
<ol>
 <li>Cancel open BNC/USDT orders before 10:00 UTC.</li>
 <li>Close active bots before 09:00 UTC.</li>
 <li>Skip new BNC deposits after 08:00 UTC.</li>
 <li>Convert each cut-off to local time. In India, 08:00 UTC is 1:30 pm.</li>
</ol>
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-should-be-checked-after-the-scheduled-cut-off-times-pass-span-span">What Should Be Checked After the Scheduled Cut-Off Times Pass?</h2>
When the deadlines are done, two things are worth a look.
<ul>
 <li>Balance:the BNC held earlier should now be listed as BNCOLD, in the same amount.</li>
 <li>Deposits:KuCoin’s deposit page shows which asset and network to choose. After the swap, deposits are meant to go through BNCOLD.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
 <li>Notices:KuCoin-has not yet shared reopening details, so its announcement page is the place to look for them.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
 <li>API symbols: live responses should be read before automated orders go back on.</li>
 <li>WebSocket: a session that dropped around 6 November needs a reconnect, then a quick look to confirm fresh data is flowing.</li>
</ul>
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-which-risks-deserve-attention-during-the-bnc-token-migration-span-span">Which Risks Deserve Attention During the BNC Token Migration?</h2>
Most of the risk comes from timing and small slips.
<ul>
 <li>Late action: a bot still running at the deadline is closed by the system.</li>
 <li>Wrong deposit: the wrong asset or network can lead to a failed transfer.</li>
 <li>Old data:if the WebSocket falls behind, an automated trade can run on prices that are no longer current.</li>
 <li>Phishing:scam messages about the migration are easy to find, so the safer route is KuCoin’s announcement page or its&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/KuCoinCom" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">official X account</a>.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-does-the-available-data-say-about-the-bncold-conversion-span-span">What Does the Available Data Say About the BNCOLD Conversion?</h2>
KuCoin has confirmed the 1:1 ratio and three service cut-offs. It has not given a completion time, a reopening schedule, or a BNCOLD trading pair. For API users, the symbol setup after the swap is the biggest open question.
Each centralized <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/tag/exchanges" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto exchange</a> sets its own rules, and the notice does not say other platforms will follow. Project details, such as Bifrost’s liquid staking model, sit outside it.&nbsp;
The Bifrost documentation covers that background, and the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kucoin.com/announcement/en-kucoin-will-update-the-ticker-of-bifrost-bnc-to-bncold" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">official KuCoin announcement</a> is where every deadline of the BNC to BNCOLD Migration can be verified.
<h3 style="text-align: justify" id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-final-takeaways-and-next-steps-for-the-bnc-to-bncold-migration-span-span">Final Takeaways and Next Steps for the BNC to BNCOLD Migration</h3>
KuCoin will convert BNC to BNCOLD automatically at 1:1, but the schedule is tight. Bots end at 09:00 UTC and BNC/USDT trading at 10:00 UTC, and WebSocket users may see disruption on 6 November.
Several details remain unannounced: when the conversion finishes, when deposits and withdrawals reopen, and what the API symbols will look like.&nbsp;
Before restarting any automated activity, the BNC to BNCOLD Migration page on KuCoin-should be checked for follow-up notices.
