Mercado Bitcoin Hackers Swap PENDLE for ETH Through CowSwap and Other DeFi Platforms

The central claim is that wallets described as linked to a Mercado Bitcoin hack swapped PENDLE for ETH through CowSwap and other DeFi venues, yet the evidence package supplied for this draft does not contain an on-chain transaction, wallet address, block explorer record, official Mercado Bitcoin statement, CowSwap statement, or named security researcher establishing any part of that chain. That absence is decisive for a security report: amid heightened institutional scrutiny of asset provenance, the allegation cannot be presented as a verified movement, regardless of how plausible a token-to-token route may appear.

The reportable fact is an evidence gap, not a confirmed swap

The brief labels its verification status “partial” while listing no verified facts and no readable evidence sources, so it does not substantiate the headline’s actor attribution, the alleged PENDLE transfer, the claimed ETH receipt, or CowSwap’s role. The retained search references are blank-query endpoints for Google Search and Bing Search, rather than a dated report or primary document, and therefore cannot serve as transaction evidence.

A public-chain allegation becomes verifiable only when a reader can inspect the transaction hash, sender and recipient addresses, token contract, block timestamp, asset amounts, and execution path; none of those fields appears in the supplied material. While the package names PENDLE, ETH, CowSwap and Mercado Bitcoin, names alone do not connect a wallet to an exchange breach or demonstrate that a protocol processed a particular order, a distinction reinforced by the absence of a story-specific result in the cited DuckDuckGo search endpoint. For related coverage, see EverValue Coin (EVA) consolidates an economic model with growing Bitcoin backing.

What is confirmed and what is conditional

What is confirmed by the editorial inputs is narrow: an unverified proposed headline exists, a raw PENDLE pricing API address was retained in the research package, and the market-data fields for price, daily change, market capitalization, and volume were left null. The raw pricing address is not used as a citation here because a machine endpoint cannot verify wallet ownership, swap execution, timing, or alleged criminal control; the package’s own source list instead exposes only the non-evidentiary search references already linked above. Context on this theme: Spain Bank BBVA Gets Approval to Launch Bitcoin Trading Services.

Everything material beyond that narrow record remains conditional, including whether an intrusion occurred, whether Mercado Bitcoin was the affected party, whether any identified wallet belongs to an attacker, whether PENDLE was exchanged, and whether CowSwap or another venue was used. This framing is not semantic caution: a blank Google Search reference supplies neither a named source nor a permanent document, while the brief identifies no official or forensic source capable of resolving those questions.
What would link wallets to a Mercado Bitcoin incident?

A defensible attribution would need a primary trail, such as an official incident notice that names affected addresses, a block-explorer link showing funds leaving such an address, or a methodology from an identified analytics firm that explains clustering and its confidence limits. No such artifact accompanies the supplied Bing Search reference, so describing a wallet controller as a Mercado Bitcoin hacker would turn an allegation into a conclusion without the underlying evidence.
Why protocol naming does not establish protocol involvement

CowSwap’s appearance in a headline, if independently documented later, would describe a possible interface or settlement route and would not by itself establish facilitation, awareness, or responsibility by the protocol or its contributors. That boundary matters for compliance teams and market-structure analysts because the provided research record contains no transaction identifier, no order record, and no response from CowSwap, only a generic search reference with no story-specific evidence.

The same limitation applies to the phrase “other DeFi platforms,” which names no application, bridge, pool, router, contract address, or execution sequence that could be independently checked. Even as the headline implies a multi-venue route, the supplied search endpoints offer no basis to map transfers across venues, distinguish direct swaps from intermediary transfers, or determine whether the underlying addresses have any common controller.

Why the alleged route matters only after a transaction is identified

If a valid on-chain record emerges, a PENDLE-to-ETH conversion could matter because it changes the asset observed at a tracked address and may add counterparties or contracts to an investigator’s review path; that is an analytic possibility, not a finding about this case. The existing record does not identify even one wallet or hash, according to the package’s retained Google endpoint, and it therefore cannot support claims about tracing difficulty, liquidity impact, recovery prospects, or the controller’s intent.

Why this matters to holders, builders and policy watchers

For PENDLE and ETH holders, the present evidence provides no supported basis to attribute price action, token supply pressure, or market impact to the alleged activity because every supplied market field is null and no trade size or timestamp is available. Traders should separate the proposed security narrative from executable information: neither the blank Bing reference nor the headline establishes a sale, a buyer, or a completed settlement.

For builders, the missing record is equally consequential, since a claim involving a protocol cannot be evaluated for sanctions screening, front-end controls, solver behavior, monitoring coverage, or contract exposure without the precise on-chain path. The research package supplies no protocol statement, no address label, and no transaction data alongside its DuckDuckGo endpoint, leaving no incident-specific technical lesson that can responsibly be drawn.

For policy watchers and institutional risk committees, this is a reminder that wallet attribution is an evidentiary claim rather than a visual pattern on a dashboard: a token conversion, even if later proven, would not alone identify a natural person or prove a predicate offense. The information provided does not identify a regulator, law-enforcement agency, court filing, or compliance notice, and the linked Google reference does not remedy that documentary gap.

Mercado Bitcoin context requires its own evidence trail

Coincu has separately published a report on Mercado Bitcoin’s strategic growth financing with Tether participation, but that company-specific background neither verifies an alleged hack nor links any address to the claim under review. Despite the relevance of an exchange’s corporate profile to institutional due diligence, the supplied security brief contains no direct Mercado Bitcoin communication beyond its unsupported headline-level reference.

That separation is particularly important when exchange news circulates alongside broader adoption coverage, including Coincu’s report that BBVA received approval to launch Bitcoin trading services in Spain: regulated-market developments do not authenticate an unrelated on-chain accusation. No relationship between that publication, the present allegation, and the generic search material is asserted or evidenced.

What remains unclear before publication-grade confirmation

The unresolved list is concrete: the event date, the breached system, the allegedly compromised address, the PENDLE amount, the ETH output, transaction fees, the named DeFi venues, and the identity or methodology of any observer who made the attribution are all absent. With none of those fields present in the supplied search endpoint, no calibrated assessment of exposure, market significance, or investigative progress can be made.

There is likewise no confirmed statement on whether assets were frozen, whether a counterparty received a notice, whether a recovery process has begun, or whether authorities are involved. Readers should treat social reposts and summaries that supply those missing elements without a primary link as unconfirmed until a durable official disclosure or block-explorer record is available, because the research packet contains neither one.

What to watch next

The next concrete trigger is the release of a transaction hash tied to a named address, followed by an official Mercado Bitcoin update or a documented forensic attribution that can be tested against that transaction’s timestamp and token flows. Until then, the only cited external materials are generic search endpoints, including Google and Bing, not proof that the reported swaps occurred.

FAQ: the reported PENDLE-to-ETH activity

Did CowSwap confirm involvement in the transactions?

No CowSwap confirmation is included in the supplied research material, and no transaction record is provided from which involvement could be independently established. The brief’s generic search reference is not an official protocol statement.

Can funds still be traced after being swapped for ETH?

That question cannot be answered for this allegation because the package supplies no starting address, swap transaction, or subsequent ETH address to trace. A chain-level answer would require the records absent from the linked Bing endpoint.

Has Mercado Bitcoin confirmed the reported hack-linked activity?

The supplied material contains no Mercado Bitcoin statement confirming the alleged activity, and it should not be represented as confirmed on the basis of this record. Institutional participants should watch for a named primary disclosure and an inspectable transaction trail before assigning compliance, liquidity, or counterparty significance to the claim; the retained Google reference is not such a disclosure.
