XDC Ventures (@XDCVentures), the venture capital arm of XDC Network (@XDCNetwork), has made a strategic investment in Scallop (@Scallopcom) to expand blockchain-powered financial services. Native $XDC and $USDC on XDC Network can now be used across Scallop's payment infrastructure.

Under the deal, native XDC and USDC on XDC Network will power Scallop prepaid cards, Apple Pay spending, fiat and stablecoin on- and off-ramps, multi-currency accounts and currency swaps, alongside cross-border payouts to more than 70 markets. Payments are also supported through selected local QR payment networks.

What the Investment Covers

XDC Ventures (XVC Tech) is described as the US$125 million venture capital arm of XDC Network.ScallopX is a global fintech platform that connects traditional financial services with digital assets. The financial terms of the investment were not disclosed in the sources reviewed.

According to Finance Magnates, the two sides plan to explore white-label payment super apps for banks, fintechs and developers, combining fiat accounts, cards, stablecoin wallets, ISO 20022 messaging and agentic AI payments. These are plans to explore, not launched products.

Ritesh Kakkad, Co-Founder of XDC Network, said blockchain's next wave of adoption will come from people paying for groceries, businesses settling invoices and, increasingly, AI agents transacting on their behalf.

Part of a Wider Push Into Regulated Finance

The deal follows XDC Ventures' acquisition of Contour Network last year, a trade finance platform originally backed by major international banks.Where Contour anchors XDC Network in institutional trade, ScallopX extends it to consumer and business payments, with compliance, KYC/AML standards and trusted payment infrastructure at the core of both.

On the regulatory side, ScallopX has publicly announced Money Services Business registrations in the United States and Canada, alongside previously reported European virtual asset permissions.

XDC Network has previously positioned itself around ISO 20022, the global financial messaging standard. A 2025 release on the launch of XDC.Cash stated that XDC Network is ISO 20022-compliant, aligning with the global messaging standard. The latest announcement says only that Scallop and XDC will explore ISO 20022-compatible messaging together.

The move adds to a growing use of stablecoins in card payments. Cryptorank data reported by GN Crypto showed that cumulative stablecoin card top-ups reached $13.8 billion by August 2026, up by nearly $10 billion over the prior 12 months.
