Zebec’s ZBCN token is used to pay payroll and product fees, stake for rewards, vote on network decisions and fund crypto cards. It also supports rewards and can serve as collateral in supported decentralized finance (DeFi) integrations. Zebec’s tokenomics document says demand comes from product use, not from paying for transactions on a base blockchain.

What Does ZBCN Do On The Zebec Network?

ZBCN has five main jobs across Zebec’s payroll, payment and card products:

Fees: Employers settle payroll and product fees in ZBCN.

Staking: Holders stake tokens for yield and higher app tiers.

Governance: Stakers can vote on Zebec Improvement Proposals (ZIPs).

Card spending: Holders can use ZBCN to fund Zebec Cards.

Incentives and collateral: ZBCN funds grants and rewards, and it may back loans in supported DeFi integrations.

Payroll And Product Fees

Zebec calls fee settlement the token’s primary use. Employers can hold ZBCN to cover fees, or use stablecoin balances that convert into ZBCN automatically when fees are assessed.
For instance, Zebec’s Stellar deployment lets employers stream USDC to workers by the second instead of paying on a fixed payday. Zebec reports over $5 million in payroll there across more than 20 corporate wallets. The wage is paid in USDC, not ZBCN. Zebec said in October that payroll fees are either paid in ZBCN or used to buy it, depending on the network.
Zebec reports about $55 million in monthly payroll for 16,000 employees and 271 business clients.

SuperApp Access And Card Spending

The Zebec SuperApp brings payroll, payments, cards and staking into one platform. Its service fees are set in ZBCN, and holding certain balances may unlock better pricing, rewards or “pro” features.
ZBCN can fund all Zebec Cards, alongside more than 150 supported tokens. The Black Card relaunch, which comes with more in-app ZBCN use, was scheduled for October. However, Zebec’s cards page still lists that card as offline and due back in late 2026.

Staking And Governance

Zebec’s staking guide says annual percentage yield (APY), a yearly return that includes compounding, depends on the lockup chosen. Tokens cannot be unstaked before a lockup ends, and each wallet can stake up to 5 million ZBCN. Zebec’s 2025 MiCA white paper cited up to 15% APY. Zipmex said in October that Zebec has not published a current rate, so holders should check the app.
Governance runs through the Zebec DAO, a token-based voting group, at dao.zebec.io. Proposals are discussed offchain, then voted on onchain. Votes typically last from 24 hours to seven days and pass by simple majority.
A Blockworks filing from August says creating a proposal requires 0.5% of ZBCN supply. That equals 500 million tokens, or about $990,000 at the current price, so large holders have more influence.

Is ZBCN A Gas Token?

Not on Solana. Gas is the fee paid to process a transaction on a blockchain, and Solana transactions are paid in SOL. Older Zebec docs and exchange guides describe ZBCN as gas on Nautilus Chain.

How Do ZBCN Tokenomics And Buybacks Work?

ZBCN has a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens. The final scheduled unlock came in March 2026, so no further releases are planned. Zebec now supports the token through buybacks, which are market purchases funded by revenue.
In the third quarter, Zebec bought 40,536,539 ZBCN for about $100,000 using card and payroll revenue. Three details matter:

Tokens were not burned: Burning destroys tokens for good. The DAO paused burns in early 2024 through ZIP-4.

Tokens are held: They sit in a treasury wallet and with Uphold Institutional. Zebec says they will not re-enter circulation.

Burns are under review: The DAO expects to assess by the end of 2026 whether to propose bringing them back.

Conclusion

ZBCN settles Zebec payroll and product fees, supports staking and DAO voting, funds cards and backs network rewards. It does not pay Solana gas or give holders dividends. Its supply is fully unlocked, and bought-back tokens are held while burns remain paused.
