Chainlink says Aave’s institutional lending platform Horizon is using its new weekend pricing service. The service gives tokenized stock collateral a price that keeps moving while traditional stock exchanges are closed.
Chainlink announced the service, called Chainlink 24/7, on Oct. 29. It starts with high-volume U.S. equities. Chainlink named Aave as its official launch partner.
Aave is the largest decentralized finance lending market, with over $34 billion in total value secured, according to Chainlink. The company says Aave is adopting the service to manage collateral around the clock.

How the Weekend Prices Work

Earlier this year, Chainlink launched its 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams. That product delivers data for U.S. stocks and ETFs across pre-market, regular, post-market and overnight weekday sessions.
Chainlink 24/7 extends that coverage to weekends and holidays. It covers stocks, commodities and other traditional assets.
During regular, extended and overnight sessions, the service uses Chainlink’s existing weekday data. When the underlying market closes, it pulls quotes from several perpetual futures venues. Derivatives linked to the asset keep trading on those venues.
This means the weekend price reflects futures markets, not trades on a closed stock exchange. Chainlink says it filters out stale inputs and limits the influence of outliers.
The company joins the different sessions into one continuous price series for each asset. Lending protocols receive the prices through onchain Data Feeds. The service is also offered through Chainlink Data Streams.
Chainlink says developers no longer need to pause weekend markets or build custom logic to switch between feeds. It says the service can support tokenized assets, prediction markets and perpetual futures.

What Changes for Borrowers and Lenders

For borrowers, the effect depends on how the feed is built into a market’s risk rules. If it is integrated, a weekend drop can reduce the value backing a loan before the stock exchange reopens.
A position could then cross its liquidation threshold during the weekend. Without a moving price, it would wait for the update when markets reopen.
Horizon is a separate institutional version of Aave. Only participants qualified and allowlisted by a collateral’s issuer can supply its tokenized real-world assets and borrow against them.
Its stablecoin pools, including USDC, RLUSD and GHO, accept funds from unrestricted suppliers. Collateral requirements and liquidation thresholds depend on the underlying asset.
For stablecoin lenders, a moving price can show falling collateral values sooner. However, recovering debt still depends on what the collateral can actually be sold for. An oracle price alone does not provide a buyer or redemption access.
Chainlink’s announcement and Aave’s Horizon documentation do not name the first equity tokens. They also do not list feed addresses or liquidation settings for those stocks.
Horizon’s documentation describes limits on issuer-reported net asset values. Updates outside the allowed range are rejected, and the last valid price is kept. The pages do not say how these safeguards apply to the new equity feeds.
The Horizon setup is separate from Aave’s V4 Equities Hub on Base. Aave’s Sept. 25 description of that market listed seven Coinbase stock tokens with feeds that held their last value over weekends. The Horizon announcement does not show that the Base setup has changed.
