Holders have approved the <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/akash-network-solana-migration-prop-yes-vote" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Akash Solana migration</a> after a week-long governance vote that closed on Nov 2, 2026. The team shared the result in two posts on its official X account that evening. This report covers the numbers, the plan, and the open questions.
Prop 346, titled Migrate the Akash Protocol to Solana, ran from Oct 26 to Nov 2, 2026. According to the<a href="https://www.mintscan.io/akash/proposals/346" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Mintscan proposal page</a>, it passed with 97.27% YES votes. The team wrote that the outcome was not close.

Turnout reached 69.39% of staked AKT, based on the Mintscan data. Quorum is the minimum share of stake that must take part in a governance vote. It stood at 33.40%, and turnout cleared it by a wide margin.

<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-the-akash-solana-migration-plan-sets-in-motion-span-span">What the Akash Solana migration plan sets in motion</h2>
The two posts give few technical details, so the proposal terms carry most of the weight. According to the proposal, the plan for the asset works as follows:
<ul>
 <li>Format: AKT moves one to one into a native SPL token, the standard format used on the new chain.</li>
 <li>Audits first: Two independent audits must finish before launch.</li>
 <li>Portal window: A one-way portal stays open for two years for holders who want to move.</li>
 <li>Unstaking step:<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/blockchain-migration-explained-akash-to-solana-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Staked AKT</a> needs a 21-day unstaking period before it can move.</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-marketplace-cutover-still-waits-on-a-separate-governance-step-span-span">Marketplace Cutover Still Waits on a Separate Governance Step</h2>
Prop 346 settles the principle behind the Akash Solana migration, not the schedule. The team said more detail on the timeline will come soon, and neither post gives a cutover date.&nbsp;
According to the proposal, moving the compute marketplace needs a later governance decision after audits and testing.
Until then, nothing in the posts changes where AKT or the marketplace runs today. Readers can follow the team’s <a href="https://x.com/akashnet" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">official X account</a> for updates.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-project-cites-move-into-the-most-active-depin-ecosystem-span-span">Project Cites Move Into the Most Active DePIN Ecosystem</h2>
DePIN stands for Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks. These projects use tokens to coordinate real-world hardware, such as computing and storage.
In its Nov 2, 2026, post, the team called the target the most active DePIN ecosystem in crypto. It added that its mission, a cloud that belongs to everyone, stays the same. According to the project, <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/akash-to-solana-migration-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">the Akash Solana migration changes</a> the setting and not the mission.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-expert-opinion-on-the-governance-result-span-span">Expert Opinion on the Governance Result</h2>
<a href="https://x.com/akashnet/status/2117271264796819948?a=GTNkxAm_o4ObDQILuyA&amp;amp;amp;s=20" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">The vote gives the team</a> a clear mandate to start the Akash Solana migration. A 97.27% YES share with turnout near 69% shows strong holder support.
The result covers only the first step, though. Audits, testing, and the marketplace cutover carry most of the technical risk, and each needs to finish before holders see the full change.
Supporters point to access to a larger ecosystem. Others note that any chain change carries execution risk, such as delays or user confusion. The coming timeline should show how the team plans to manage both sides.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-conclusion-span-span">Conclusion</h2>
Holders have backed the Akash Solana migration, and the result is on record at Mintscan. In <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-news-nov-3-bitcoin-ethereum-price-fear-index-us-midterms" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto news today</a>, audits and the marketplace cutover still lie ahead, with no confirmed dates. Further details are expected through the team’s official channels.&nbsp;
