Dogecoin (DOGE) has recorded another disappointing October performance, with monthly losses reaching 20.1% despite expectations of a market recovery. The decline marks the second consecutive year that the leading meme cryptocurrency has struggled during the historically bullish month.

According to CryptoRank historical data, Dogecoin lost 20% in October 2025, nearly matching its performance this year. The repeated losses have weakened Dogecoin’s October record, despite the cryptocurrency posting gains during the preceding two months.

Market data also shows that the downturn has erased a substantial portion of Dogecoin’s third-quarter gains. Its price has dropped below $0.08, reversing the upward movement recorded between July and September.

CryptoRank figures show that Dogecoin’s October performance has closely mirrored the decline recorded during the same period in 2025. Both months produced losses exceeding 20%, marking two consecutive setbacks during a period commonly associated with cryptocurrency market gains.

The latest decline also interrupted Dogecoin’s recovery pattern following positive monthly performances in August and September. Those gains had helped the meme cryptocurrency recover part of its earlier losses before selling pressure returned in October.

Significantly, Dogecoin gained 31.2% during the third quarter, covering the three months between July and September. The cryptocurrency ended September at $0.09447, reflecting stronger performance during the preceding quarter.

October brought a reversal as Dogecoin’s price fell to approximately $0.07197, according to the reported market figures. This represented a decline of approximately 23.8% from its September closing price.

The price movement has therefore erased much of the recovery recorded during the third quarter. Meanwhile, the negative monthly return has placed Dogecoin among cryptocurrencies struggling to maintain their earlier upward momentum.

Dogecoin Faces November and December After October Setback

Dogecoin’s October performance has also weakened its position entering the remaining two months of 2026. The cryptocurrency must recover from its recent losses to regain the price levels recorded at September’s close.

A return to $0.09447 would require an increase of approximately 31.3% from the reported October price of $0.07197. That calculation highlights the size of the recovery needed to reverse the latest decline.

Additionally, the repeated October losses show that Dogecoin has not benefited consistently from the seasonal optimism surrounding Uptober. Its performance in both 2025 and 2026 contrasts with the positive expectations traditionally associated with the month.

Despite the recent downturn, Dogecoin’s third-quarter performance demonstrates that the cryptocurrency experienced substantial gains earlier in the year. Those gains provide context for the scale of October’s reversal rather than confirming any future recovery.

With November and December remaining, Dogecoin’s annual performance will depend partly on whether prices recover from October’s decline.

The cryptocurrency enters November below its September closing level, following another October loss exceeding 20%. Its year-end result remains uncertain, with the latest monthly figures showing a significant reversal of earlier gains.
