MSTR

Mike Flaum, CEO of Log Scale Investments, appeared on Bitcoin Magazine TV to discuss his bullish outlook for MicroStrategy (MSTR) during the anticipated next Bitcoin bull run. Flaum outlined his key strategies and detailed why he believes MSTR could deliver significantly higher returns for investors in the upcoming market cycle.

Strategic moves and dividend innovation

Flaum highlighted the impact of MicroStrategy’s approach to issuing Stretch at $100, explaining that this action can reignite Bitcoin purchases for the company. He stressed the benefit of separating risk from volatility in investment decisions, which he sees as vital for long-term confidence in Bitcoin-related stocks like MSTR.

On the topic of shareholder returns, Flaum discussed the recent decision by MicroStrategy investors to approve daily dividends. He likened this move to the way Bitcoin perpetual futures operate, providing consistent cash flow and appeal for both short-term traders and long-term holders.

Flaum observed that daily dividends offer a mechanism similar to Bitcoin perpetual futures, creating ongoing opportunities for a variety of investors.

He also addressed the participation of opportunistic traders versus more steady, long-term preferred stockholders, noting their differing motivations and risk tolerances in the current environment.

Comparing Bitcoin-backed preferreds and bonds

Flaum compared Bitcoin-backed preferred shares to traditional US Treasury bonds, particularly as an income-producing option for retirees. He argued that Bitcoin-backed assets could present attractive advantages over government bonds, especially during periods of heightened market demand.

Strive’s SATS offering was another focal point of the discussion. Flaum examined whether the oversubscription reflected inflows of entirely new capital or simply shifts within the crypto investment landscape.

Stock performance and market cycles

Flaum addressed why MicroStrategy’s stock price has sometimes lagged behind the growth in its underlying Bitcoin holdings. He provided explanations regarding gross, enterprise value (EV), and net modified net asset value (mNAV), emphasizing the importance of these metrics for investors evaluating digital asset equities.

He also commented on other corporate strategies, such as digital credit, equity amplification, and share buybacks, positioning these as potential levers for shareholder value in a Bitcoin-centric investment model.

Discussing broader cycles, Flaum questioned whether the Bitcoin four-year cycle pattern remains intact, referencing recent milestones and trend shifts. He suggested that Bitcoin’s next all-time high could potentially arrive before the next halving, citing both historical precedence and emerging signals from the market.

Highlighting recent analysis, Flaum pointed to forecasts from JPMorgan and explained that, based on current dynamics, Bitcoin could break previous price records ahead of the halving event.
