The Winklevoss Zcash ETF was filed on October 6, proposing a Nasdaq listing under the ticker WINK.

VanEck withdrew its Lido stake ETH fund on October 14, after the proposed product had sold no shares.

October 23 brought amendments from Canary, Cryptex, and Grayscale, covering Injective, a multi-asset index, and Bittensor.

Crypto ETF filings in October included one new Zcash proposal, alongside amendments and a withdrawal that show how fund applications continued moving through regulatory processes.

Whale Factor's October roundup reports one new spot crypto ETF filing and five other developments involving amendments or withdrawals. The new application came from the Winklevoss Zcash ETF, filed on October 6. It names Nasdaq as its intended exchange and WINK as its proposed ticker.

The filing would make it the second Zcash ETF identified in the roundup. Grayscale's existing product is cited as the predecessor. However, the information provided does not confirm approval or a launch date for WINK.

The proposal adds another potential exchange-traded route for Zcash exposure. Investors would need to wait for further regulatory steps before treating it as an available product. A filing alone does not mean shares can begin trading.

The October figures distinguish this application from five other reported developments. Those involved amendments or a withdrawal, rather than newly filed products. The count therefore reflects filing activity, not the number of funds entering the market.

VanEck Withdraws Its Lido Staked ETH Fund

VanEck withdrew its proposed Lido stake Ether fund on October 14. The roundup states that the fund never sold a share. It therefore did not reach investors as a trading product.

There is no information on why VanEck withdrew the proposal. The decision doesn't identify if the decision was influenced by a lack of demand, strategy, or regulatory issues. It remains a specific withdrawal within October's reported activity.

The withdrawal is not an amendment to an active application. An amendment is a change to a proposal and a withdrawal is the cancellation of a proposal from the current filing process. The roundup counts both of these activities, so they are not one and the same.

This is important when looking at monthly ETF data. The count of new filings does not indicate the number of proposals that are still pending. Several additional points about the process after applications are submitted are included in withdrawals and amendments.

October 23 Brings Three ETF Amendments

October 23 was the busiest day in the roundup, with three reported amendments. Canary submitted its fourth amendment for a proposed staked Injective ETF linked to INJ. The entry concerns an existing proposal rather than a new filing.

Cryptex filed its sixth amendment for a multi-asset index product. The update marks another revision to that proposal. However, the supplied details do not specify what changed in the latest amendment.

Grayscale also filed its second amendment for its Bittensor trust. The proposed changes would rename it the Grayscale Bittensor ETF. They would also seek a listing on NYSE Arca under the ticker GTAO.

These filings cover different approaches to crypto investment products. Canary's proposal concerns staked INJ, Cryptex covers multiple assets, and Grayscale targets Bittensor. The roundup does not report final approval for any of these amended proposals.

Overall, October's listed activity comprised one new filing and five updates or withdrawals. The Winklevoss offer included Zcash, and VanEck eliminated its unlaunched fund. Canary, Cryptex, and Grayscale kept tweaking their apps, but nothing indicates that they'll launch the market.
