Three <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-details/what-is-rlusd-ripple-stablecoin-guide-market-cap" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ripple ecosystem</a> stories landed on the same day, October 28, 2026. A top credit rating agency graded Ripple’s stablecoin, the largest U.S. crypto exchange added it, and a new name joined the list of computers that help run the ledger.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, the coin itself slid 2.7%. <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/xrp-news-today-ripple-robinhood-g20-payments" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP News Today</a> walks through each story in plain words, with the confirmed numbers, and shows what each one does and does not mean for the coin.

<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/xrp-futures-volume-hits-seven-month-high-as-price-holds-1-30" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">The coin was trading</a> near $1.29, down 2.71% over 24 hours, after touching a high near $1.339 and a low near $1.286.

The chart opened near $1.328 and slipped to about $1.308 around 10 PM on the chart’s clock.&nbsp;
It then recovered and spiked to about $1.339 around 1:30 AM before fading. Around 7 AM it dropped sharply from roughly $1.32 to $1.29, and it hit its low near $1.286 around 9:30 AM.&nbsp;
A small bounce to about $1.303 did not last, and the coin has stayed close to $1.29 since.&nbsp;
From the high to the low, that is a drop of about 4%. Volume rose 20%, so the decline came with busy trading.&nbsp;
Readers following XRP news today will find three confirmed stories below, each one about the stablecoin or the ledger rather than the coin itself.
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-story-one-moody-s-gives-rlusd-an-a2-credit-rating-span-span">Story One: Moody’s Gives RLUSD an A2 Credit Rating</h3>
<a href="https://ratings.moodys.com/ratings-news/475989" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Moody’s Ratings</a> assigned RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin tied to the U.S. dollar, an A2 long-term and a P-1 short-term deposit rating on October 28, 2026.&nbsp;
<a href="https://ripple.com/ripple-press/ripple-receives-final-occ-approval-to-establish-national-trust-bank/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">It is described</a> as the first investment-grade rating Moody’s has given a stablecoin. A credit rating is a grade for how safely a borrower can repay what it owes.

 <col width="103">
 <col width="498">

 <tbody>
 <tr>
 <td>Rating</td>
 <td>What it means</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>A2 (long-term)</td>
 <td>Upper-medium grade with low credit risk. It sits in the “A” tier, below Aa and the top grade, Aaa</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>P-1 (short-term)</td>
 <td>The highest short-term grade, which signals a strong ability to repay short-term obligations</td>
 </tr>
 </tbody>
 </table>
</div>
The rating looks at five things:
<ul>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">The quality and market value of the reserve assets behind each coin.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">How much extra reserve exists compared with coins in circulation.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">How easily holders can redeem coins for dollars.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">Whether reserves are kept separate and held by an outside custodian.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">Legal and regulatory conditions, under a framework Moody’s published in March 2026.</li>
</ul>
Here are the key facts. The reserves are mostly short-term U.S. government debt and cash.&nbsp;
The issuer, Standard Custody &amp; Trust Company, targets 103% reserve coverage, which means the reserves are meant to be worth slightly more than the coins issued.&nbsp;
BNY is the main reserve custodian. The rating covers coins issued on both the <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-details/what-is-xrp-vs-ripple-explained-complete-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP Ledger</a> and Ethereum.
A few cautions help keep this in perspective. The 103% figure is a target, not a promise.&nbsp;
The rating could weaken if reserve quality falls, coverage drops, or redemptions get harder.&nbsp;
The <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/genius-act-rules-final-stablecoin-issuer-deadline" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">GENIUS Act</a>, once in effect in 2027, would add protections, including keeping required reserves out of the issuer’s bankruptcy estate.&nbsp;
The stablecoin’s market value is about $2.4 billion to $2.6 billion, depending on the tracker. The rating arrives a day after<a href="https://ripple.com/ripple-press/ripple-receives-final-occ-approval-to-establish-national-trust-bank/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">final OCC approval</a> for Ripple’s national trust bank.
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-coinbase-brings-rlusd-to-its-platforms-span-span">Coinbase Brings RLUSD to Its Platforms</h3>
<a href="https://ripple.com/ripple-press/ripple-and-coinbase-partner-to-expand-access-to-rlusd/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ripple and Coinbase announced</a> a partnership on October 28, 2026, to bring the stablecoin to Coinbase’s platforms.
<a href="https://www.coinbase.com/blog/rlusd-is-now-available-on-coinbase" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Coinbase also confirmed it</a> on its own Post.

In plain words, <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-details/coinbase-exchange-review-features-fees-security" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Prime is Coinbase’s service</a> for large institutions, the Exchange serves professional traders, and the Retail app is for everyday users.&nbsp;
Base is Coinbase’s own blockchain network, and Ripple will provide liquidity there, meaning it will make sure there are enough coins available to trade.&nbsp;
<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/stablecoin-crypto-news-japan-big-banks-joint-yen-stablecoin-test" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">The stablecoin is redeemable</a> for U.S. dollars and backed by reserves that include dollar deposits, short-term Treasuries, and other cash equivalents.&nbsp;
A Swell session with leaders from both companies was scheduled for 4:45 PM ET on October 28.
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-flare-joins-the-recommended-validator-list-span-span">Flare Joins the Recommended Validator List</h3>
The third story is about the people who run the ledger. A validator is a computer, operated by an independent group, that checks transactions and votes on the ledger.
<a href="https://x.com/XRPLF/status/2115517544467435768?s=20" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">The XRPL Foundation</a> welcomed Flare Networks to its recommended validator list. Flare fits the ledger’s core values, takes part in governance, and contributes to the wider ecosystem.&nbsp;
<img alt="The XRPL Foundation" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/MZ8vJZugKNfEr8zzzo70NtCaeRjX29CYFd15oUGQ.png" width="300" style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; margin-top: 10px" height="635">
The Foundation also&nbsp;<a href="https://x.com/XRPLF/status/2115517968171815239" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">removed Anodos Finance</a> from the list at Anodos’s own request, because its validator is shutting down by the end of the month.
<img alt="The XRP Ledger Foundation" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/ExmjBGgoiPZMj6S0RXQQIJsm8Tp9H46MEriro8V9.png" width="300" style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; margin-top: 10px" height="735">
Why does the list matter? According to the<a href="https://xrpl.org/docs/concepts/consensus-protocol/negative-unl.md" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">official XRPL documentation</a>, each server follows a unique node list, which is a list of validators it trusts not to team up against the network.&nbsp;
By default, servers trust validators that appear on at least one of two lists, one published by the XRPL Foundation and one by Ripple.&nbsp;
A change normally needs 80% of trusted validators to agree. So a spot on the recommended list gives a validator real influence.
Both lists now match at 35 validators, according to reports, which suggests closer coordination between the Foundation and Ripple.&nbsp;
The change affects how the network is run, not how much of the coin exists or who holds it.
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-these-three-stories-add-up-to-span-span">What These Three Stories Add Up To</h3>
Taken together, the stories cover three different layers:
<ul>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">Trust: a major rating agency has graded the stablecoin’s reserves and structure.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">Reach: the largest U.S. crypto exchange now offers it to institutions, traders and everyday users.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">Network health: the group of validators that runs the ledger has a new member and a tighter list.</li>
</ul>
Here is what the facts do not show. None of the three announcements describes buying or holding the coin, and no official source ties them to this week’s slide.&nbsp;
Anyone following XRP news today should read them as signs of a growing ecosystem, not as promised demand for the coin.
Here is what to watch next:
<ul>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">When Coinbase Global Exchange customers get access, including use as collateral.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">Whether other rating agencies or banks follow with their own reviews.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">Any further changes to the validator lists.</li>
 <li style="margin-left: 0px; list-style-type: disc">Whether the coin holds above this morning’s low near $1.286.</li>
</ul>
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-conclusion-span-span">Conclusion</h3>
A top credit rating, a major exchange listing, and a stronger validator list make a good week for the ecosystem, yet the coin slid 2.7% anyway.&nbsp;
Each story strengthens the stablecoin or the ledger, and none of them is a direct purchase of the coin.&nbsp;
For XRP news today, the smartest approach is to follow the confirmed facts and ignore the hype.
