<a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/markets/shark-tanks-kevin-oleary-reveals-two-cryptos-institutions-are-betting-on" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Kevin O’Leary </a>says he has not walked away from Bitcoin, even as the asset struggles to push higher.
In a post <a href="https://x.com/kevinolearytv/status/2115263164950450216" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">on X</a>, the Shark Tank investor named two factors behind the plateau and said he is tracking both closely.

“Why is<a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/markets/coinbase-ceo-says-golds-supply-can-change-bitcoins-cant" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> Bitcoin plateauing</a>?” O’Leary asked. His answer: institutions want regulatory clarity before they invest, and quantum computing has become a growing concern for some investors.

 He also sees opportunity in the second risk. “The quantum opportunity is also why I’m looking at companies like IBM,” O’Leary said, suggesting the same technology that worries Bitcoin holders could reward investors elsewhere.

Yesterday angel investor <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/markets/dump-bitcoin-now-analyst-warns-bitcoin-may-never-hit-another-record" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Jason Calacanis </a>had issued one of his bluntest warnings on Bitcoin, telling followers to sell and move their money.

He&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/markets/bitcoin-and-gold-are-2026s-worst-performing-assets-and-history-offers-no-precedent" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">predicted Bitcoin</a> “will test the 57k low again in the next 12 months,” pointing to outflows from Bitcoin exchange-traded funds as a warning sign.
<h2 id="what-he-said-earlier">What he said earlier</h2>
The post echoes comments O’Leary made last month. Speaking at the Avalanche Summit in New York, he said he was adding crypto <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/markets/kevin-oleary-says-hes-buying-crypto-again-heres-his-bitcoin-prediction" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">positions again</a>.
“I’m back in the saddle buying new positions, putting my bets on for this next cycle,” he said. He added that he is waiting for a major stock exchange to adopt a blockchain, which he called a “watershed moment.”
On regulation, O’Leary had said he expects crypto legislation to return after the CLARITY Act’s Senate setback, since lawmakers are working on tax policy for digital assets. He does not expect a bill before the midterms.
On quantum, he had said in a separate <a href="https://x.com/cptdankkk/status/2100602938175492369" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">interview</a> that Bitcoin could reach $1 million, but only if the industry settles the doubt around the technology. He called the threat “Q-Day,” the point at which quantum machines could break the algorithms and encryption <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/markets/bitcoin-ai-stocks-and-elon-musk-analyst-makes-3-bold-predictions-investors-cant-ignore" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">protecting blockchains</a>.
O’Leary has also said Bitcoin could eventually take a 1% to 3% share of alternative-asset allocation, similar to what institutions hold in gold.
