Ripple Payments support Siam Commercial Bank’s international transfer services as Thailand explores new approaches to digital financial infrastructure. The bank’s existing offering provides a practical example of cross-border payment technology within commercial banking.

Siam Commercial Bank Uses Ripple Technology

Thailand's cross-border payments space has been old and established, with ALLINCRYPTO recently naming Ripple and XRP as such. Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) is one of the oldest and biggest banks in Thailand. The bank uses Ripple technology for international transfers, as described in its accompanying case study.

SCB aims to improve customer experiences while strengthening its digital banking position across Thailand and Southeast Asia. Its payment service connects the bank with international partners through Ripple’s payment infrastructure. Customers can access the service through the SCB Easy application.

The case study describes international transfers as instant and low-cost for customers using the service. SCB is also expanding access to business clients, according to the supplied material. However, the graphic provides no detailed transaction figures or independent performance measurements.

Cross-border transfers may be made through several financial institutions and different payment systems. These also can create a delay, a processing fee, and extra work in getting the money to the recipient. SCB’s service is designed to make international transfers faster and easier to access.

Thailand’s Digital Finance Projects Develop

SCB’s approach places payment technology behind an established banking application. Users don't need to be aware of the infrastructure in order to initiate a transfer. Banks can therefore improve payment services while retaining familiar customer-facing channels.

The supplied case study also refers to four models for inbound services and more than $300 million. However, it does not clarify what the amount measures or which period it covers. The figure cannot reliably establish transaction volume or XRP-related activity without further documentation.

ALLINCRYPTO also reported that Thailand’s central bank was joining BLOOM alongside Ripple. The supplied post does not explain the central bank’s responsibilities or the project’s technical design. Its participation should therefore be treated separately from SCB’s existing payment service.

Further details would be needed to determine BLOOM’s objectives and implementation schedule. Participation alone does not establish that a project has launched nationwide. Nor does it confirm that participating institutions will use XRP for settlement.

XRP’s Role Remains Unconfirmed

Ripple provides payment technology, while XRP is a separate digital asset with specific potential uses. Some payment arrangements can involve XRP, but Ripple technology does not automatically require the token. The SCB material does not confirm XRP usage in the bank’s transfers.

That distinction matters when assessing whether banking partnerships create direct demand for XRP. A bank can adopt Ripple’s infrastructure without necessarily holding or transferring the token. Actual settlement arrangements would determine whether XRP plays a role in these transactions.

XRP was trading near $1.29 on October 24, 2026, according to available market data. That figure provides market context but does not establish a connection with SCB’s payment activity. The supplied information offers no evidence that the bank’s service has driven token demand.

For XRP holders, the central question concerns how these payment services settle transactions. Evidence of XRP usage would require clearer information about the assets transferred and settlement process. Without those details, banking adoption and token demand remain separate measures.

SCB’s example shows Ripple technology being applied to an existing international banking service. Thailand’s reported BLOOM development represents another area requiring further clarification. Verified usage data would help establish the scale of these projects and XRP’s actual role.
