Ethereum Layer 2 network Blast is closing its standard withdrawal interface as the network moves through its shutdown process.
The change means users will no longer be able to rely on the familiar withdrawal interface after October 26, 2026.
Instead, anyone seeking to withdraw remaining assets will need to interact directly with Ethereum bridge contracts.
The Blast L2 shutdown represents a significant change for users who still have funds associated with the network.
Layer 2 networks are designed to process transactions outside Ethereum’s main network while using Ethereum infrastructure for settlement and other functions.
Blast previously offered users a standard interface for moving assets through its bridge.
With that interface closing, the withdrawal process becomes more technical.
Importantly, the closure of the website-based withdrawal interface does not necessarily mean that every remaining asset becomes inaccessible.
However, users may need additional technical knowledge to complete withdrawals successfully.

Following the interface closure, withdrawals will require direct interaction with Ethereum smart contracts.
Smart contracts are blockchain-based programs that execute predefined instructions when users submit valid transactions.
In this case, the relevant Ethereum bridge contracts are intended to support the withdrawal process without the usual front-end interface.
However, interacting directly with contracts is more complicated than using a standard withdrawal page.
Users may need to connect a compatible wallet, identify the correct contract functions and provide the required transaction information.
Ethereum network fees may also apply.
The Blast L2 shutdown therefore creates additional practical challenges for users unfamiliar with direct smart contract interactions.
Incorrect transaction parameters or interaction with an unofficial contract could result in failed transactions or financial losses.
The available announcement does not provide the verified bridge contract addresses or a detailed step-by-step withdrawal procedure.
Users should avoid relying on addresses circulated through unverified social media accounts or unsolicited messages.

<h2 id="what-blast-users-should-know-before-withdrawing">What Blast Users Should Know Before Withdrawing</h2>
The closure of Blast’s normal withdrawal interface highlights the importance of understanding how assets can be recovered when blockchain services wind down.
Users with remaining funds should consult verified official communications for the correct withdrawal process.
They should also confirm that any contract address belongs to the legitimate Ethereum bridge infrastructure before signing transactions.
Because direct contract interactions can involve complex parameters, users should avoid approving unfamiliar requests or granting unnecessary token permissions.
The announcement does not establish that the underlying bridge contracts are closing at the same time as the interface.
It also does not specify a final deadline for contract-based withdrawals.
These distinctions matter because losing access to a convenient withdrawal interface is different from losing access to the underlying assets.
For now, the Blast L2 shutdown means the normal withdrawal interface is closing, while future withdrawals will require direct interaction with Ethereum bridge contracts.
Users who still hold assets on Blast should carefully review official instructions and understand the process before attempting to move their funds.
