The move deepened an ongoing bearish trend that has dominated the cryptocurrency market, with selling pressure continuing for a third consecutive week.

Major cryptocurrencies mirror Bitcoin’s decline

BTC is currently trading around $80,044, reflecting a modest recovery from its recent lows but still facing significant headwinds. Ethereum has also slipped and is now trading close to $2,321, while XRP has retreated to about $1.28. This widespread decline has left buyers struggling to regain control of the market, making recovery attempts appear tentative and fragile.

Technical indicators suggest that Bitcoin’s recent attempts at recovery remain vulnerable. The persistence of selling pressure has brought key support levels into sharp focus, raising concerns that further declines could be on the horizon if momentum does not improve.

Technical outlook for Bitcoin price

Bitcoin continues to trade beneath its 50-day Exponential Moving Average, currently at $80,787. This level is regarded as the nearest formidable resistance point for a potential recovery effort. Despite this, the cryptocurrency remains positioned above its 100-day EMA at $77,677 and its 200-day EMA at $76,300. According to analysts, these longer-term averages are helping Bitcoin maintain its broader bullish structure despite the short-term weakness.

The price is now caught between upward resistance and key support, with any move likely to test the strength of buying and selling activity in the near term. Should Bitcoin reclaim the 50-day EMA, this could help ease some of the immediate downward pressure, but further losses may put longer-term support levels in jeopardy.

The Relative Strength Index for Bitcoin stands at 41, falling short of the neutral 50 level, which points to the dominance of sellers and subdued buying activity. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator also paints a cautious picture, remaining negative with a weak histogram. These readings indicate that the price remains under pressure, with little sign of a forceful bullish reversal.

Combined, these technical signals indicate that Bitcoin’s position above its 100-day and 200-day moving averages has yet to inspire a significant surge in buying interest. Upside attempts will likely encounter resistance unless market momentum shifts decisively in favor of buyers.

Key levels to watch: $76,300 and $74,755

If the prevailing bearish trend continues, analysts are monitoring the 100-day EMA at $77,677 as the first major support to be tested. A drop to this level would provide an important gauge of whether buyers can stabilize the market after falling below $80,000.

Further down, the 200-day EMA at approximately $76,300 represents a more significant support zone. Transactional Liquidity, or TLQ, stands at $74,755 on the daily chart and marks a critical area of demand. A daily close below these levels would significantly undermine Bitcoin’s medium-term bullish outlook and increase the likelihood of a deeper correction.

If bulls manage to regain control, recapturing the 50-day EMA at $80,787 is seen as an essential step, while any sustained advance could then face resistance near $85,000, a level with previous heavy selling activity.

These closely watched technical levels are driving active monitoring among investors. In an environment where unexpected announcements, such as Federal Reserve policy decisions or sudden altcoin listings, can rapidly shift sentiment, market participants are increasingly relying on privacy-focused platforms like CryptoAppsy to streamline their strategies. CryptoAppsy offers tools for real-time charting, price alerts, specialized coin news, and macroeconomic data without requiring an account, allowing traders to respond instantly to evolving market conditions from a single interface.

Short-term caution remains the dominant mood, as Bitcoin’s weak momentum and broader market losses across Ethereum, XRP, and other leading coins keep sentiment subdued. Should Bitcoin lose the $76,300 support, downside risks could quickly escalate.

A daily close below the main support averages would threaten Bitcoin’s medium-term upward trajectory and could trigger a more extensive pullback if buyers fail to mount a recovery.
