Two major cryptocurrencies, Hyperliquid (HYPE) and Zcash (ZEC), are locked in a close contest for a spot in the top 10 by market capitalization. Hyperliquid currently holds ninth place with a market value of $19.78 billion, while Zcash follows closely at $19.22 billion in tenth. The slim margin of $560 million separating the two means that even minor price movements could see them swapping positions in the rankings.

HYPE and ZEC: Technical Landscape

Hyperliquid trades at $77.90 after falling 5.16% over the past week. Its price action shows that the asset peaked near $98 in late September but has since trended downward. The token now sits on its 100-day moving average, around the $77 mark. This level previously provided support, suggesting buyers may look to defend it once again.
If Hyperliquid loses this support, attention could turn to the 200-day moving average near $67 as the next target. Technical indicators support the cautious mood: the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 40, reflecting weak momentum but not yet an oversold condition. For sentiment to improve, HYPE would need to reclaim the $82 to $83 range.

Recent trading patterns indicate that Hyperliquid must recover the $82 to $83 zone to regain its bullish momentum, as the current RSI reading near 40 points to soft buying pressure rather than a clear buy signal.

Zcash, in comparison, experienced a more explosive rally. The coin jumped from roughly $500 in August to nearly $1,700 in September, gaining over 200% in that period. Since its peak, ZEC’s price fell sharply to around $1,050, where it has seen modest stabilization.
Now trading below its 50-day moving average near $1,180, Zcash faces resistance at that level. The 100-day moving average close to $1,000 serves as the primary support. The more distant 200-day average sits around $790. The RSI for ZEC is near 45, indicating a neutral stance in buyer-seller dynamics.

Market Patterns and Meme Token Insight

Both HYPE and ZEC share notable similarities: each rallied strongly before peaking in late September, followed by a period of cooling off. However, Hyperliquid stands out for already testing a major technical support, while Zcash has further to drop before approaching its equivalent threshold.
In trending markets, technical zones such as moving averages and RSI levels provide valuable signals to traders monitoring potential reversals or breakdowns. Parallel to this, the meme token market continues to attract attention for its speed and volatility.
In the meme token sphere, a viral online movement can rapidly generate millions of dollars in trading activity. Fomo App highlighted a notable example: an investor in “Niu Lai” turned an initial $99 trade into approximately $370,000 within days, illustrating the importance of closely watching not just price trends, but also timing and token selection. Fomo App’s platform enables users to follow token discovery, investor rankings, and trade notifications, bringing trading and social features together in a single ecosystem for market observers navigating the fast-changing meme token landscape.

During periods of high volatility, tracking technical indicators like moving averages alongside investor sentiment can be critical for anticipating potential trend shifts or emerging opportunities.

With only a narrow difference in market capitalization between Hyperliquid and Zcash, and with supporters from both communities watching closely, these assets remain in focus as traders await their next moves near key technical levels.
